Villager trades for food items won't accept food that has some rot.

The bug is very simple.
Try trading farmers potatoes and carrots.
No matter how quickly you can obtain a fresh stack of food, the villagers still glitch out and not accept the food despite there being a phantom emerald where it accepts it.
I also have this issue (Well in to May). Is this something that might be fixed for the 1.12 version?
