Forgotten Dreams is a mod that aims to bring back lost Minecraft content, ranging from concept art, April Fool's jokes, brief mentions, other games, and so much more.
At this stage, the mod is more of a proof-of-concept than anything else. I just wanted to be able to share my work in some form or another. My current version is riddled with bugs that I don't really know how to fix yet. Mostly just small things like palm trees not generating properly, Magma Cows just sorta gliding along, clay pots doing anvil damage... small stuff, but still buggy. At least now the game doesn't crash when trying to think of lowercase baby mobs. I do NOT recommend using this mod in a world without making a backup. It's likely going to get messy. Wouldn't surprise me at all if it's got some game breaking glitches I haven't found yet. Most stuff can't be obtained in survival either.
Currently, this mod adds:
- Nightmare, Blossom, Baobab and Palm trees (And their corresponding wood types. Palm logs are rather unique... Baobab is probably going to need a change)
- Clay Pots based on the Archeology footage
- a portal to the Dream Dimension (Like a nether portal made from Rift Frames, lit with a Dream Star)
- 22 new paintings
- Jolly Llamas in Snowy Tundra's
- Magma Cows in Basalt Deltas (Recreated from old Earth concept art)
- Cracked and Chiseled Red nether brick
- Blue and Black nether brick variants
- elder prismarine with the colors of elder guardians (obtained by smelting normal prismarine)
- Rubies and Ruby ore. What can you do with them? Just wait and see!
- Pink Iron. It's just slightly stronger iron.
- six new flowers and the shrub have been brought back
- two new music discs that may end up needing to be removed
- copper buttons and pressure plate (Foreshadowing?)
- recipes for most things (and advancements that unlock the recipes for you as you get the items. most mods don't seem to have that for some reason.)
- Drops for mobs that don't exist yet
- and a LOT of half-working stuff. Etho Slabs, Woodcutter, Wands, Ceramic Shards, carved melons, and mud, just to name a few
I plan on updating the textures at some point too. I have very little skill with pixel art, but I KNOW baobab wood shouldn't be that red.
This mod is likely going to be in development for a while, but I'll be updating it every now and then. Ideally I'd like to update it once a month, but concentering it's written in java... and the fact that I don't know a much java yet... that's probably not going to happen. Eventually I want to get every single mob from Minecraft Earth into the game, but that's going to take a while.
Anyways, this mod is a mess at the moment, but hopefully it won't be for long!
Again, please keep in mind that this is mostly just a prototype for something much bigger. I highly doubt that it's as stable as I think.
