Describe the feature
Hello i would love to see framed pointed dripstone (Yeah i know its not full block) but it would help a lot, i can imagine icicles, other type of stones like dripstones, like granite, diorite, even stone or netherrack, or white ones to use as teeth for big drgon skull etc.
Oh, yeah i understand that. Maybe something like: make the mod check the texture and when it sees what texture it is, it will adapt to it? Not sure if its possible to make, just idea
That's an approach I'm thinking about as well but that's really complicated, a lot of work to implement and I'm not sure about the performance impact it might have, so it will require lots of testing.
Ah i see, well then i wish you good luck with it ^^ hope you find solution that will be suitable
I kinda like the idea, I'm just not quite sure yet what the best way to implement this would be. The simple approach would be to adhere to the 16*16 texture used by vanilla and model it after that but that could weird when a resource pack replaces the vanilla pointed dripstone texture with a higher resolution or otherwise different texture.
I'll add it to the pile of things to ponder on.
That would be one step further than the potential solution I mentioned and would be even more complicated to implement. I'm still not sure what the best way is. I'll have to think some more about this when I'm done with other stuff that has been sitting on the backlog for ages.

Oi i think i came up with idea how to make it work, the framed pointed dripstone will use the model and resolution of whatever has highest priority (resourcepack) that is curently used on vanilla dripstone, for example if resourcepack replace the dripstone model with fully 3D model in 16x16, the framed one will use the same model and resolution, dont know if i did not just described the solution we thought above, but still wanted let ya to know that i got this idea for solution

Ah i see, sorry dont know how you codded the mod (also dont understand coding at all xD) so i just got different idea and wanted to share it, did not knew its even more complicated :X Ok i see thanks for answer and explanation ^^
