Which version of Minecraft and FramedBlocks are you using? In 1.21, all double stair blocks (including the sliced ones) connect like normal stairs.

1.20.1, it makes a lot more sense now. Is a backport of that feature possible?

Backporting this feature is unfortunately not possible as it would break every double stair block that is already placed.
