So I have the latest Gecko 1.12.2 and the latest Frikinzi's Fauna and the leads are not rendering on the animals

Not a Geckolib issue. Requires custom rendering by the modder using Geckolib

Where is the custom rendering?

It requires a custom Geo render that uses code from MobEntities from vanilla. The default Geo Render uses LivingEntity and the code will not work there.
