Hellfax's Ecology Mod is a mod that will routinely update (when I'm not busy of course) and add new mobs, items, and blocks corresponding to living organisms (and some technically non-living ones) per new update. Each organism will have a specific function that it fills, from useful drops, to unique and useful mechanics (such as certain parasites like the Acanthocephalan attacking animals thus being useful for mob farms), being tameable, providing a challenge or just filling the world with ambience. Currently there are only two organisms which I will list below, but i plan to add a lot more. I'm unsure if I plan to add a guidebook system using patchouli or some other library yet.

7 organisms will be added per update. Since randomness is one of favourite things in life, each organism will be decided by rolling for each of the following categories on Wikispecies. If the resulting species has no Wikipedia page, or is too niche, I will usually use a higher taxonomic ranking to base a more generalized entity off of it, or choose a more well known species closer in taxonomic ranking. For example, if I roll for "Hadena corrupta corrupta" in Wikispecies, (which has no Wikipedia page but that's besides the point) I will navigate up to family ranking and add a mob known as the Owlet Moth, which will be either a generalization of all Owlet Moths or the type species.

Six organism types are necessary rolls:

- Arthropod (+Onychophorans)

- Chordates

- Molluscs

- Worms (Annelida + Acanthocephalans + Chaetognatha + Entoprocta + Gastrotricha + Gnathostomulida + Hemichordata + Nematoda + Nematomorpha + Nemertea + Orthonectida + Phoronida + Platyhelminthes + Priapulida)

- Plants

- Fungi

After that, one additional roll will be decided out of the following catagories using rng.

- Echinodermata

- Jellies (Cnidaria (Also includes hydroids, corals and sea anemones) + Ctenophora)

- Protists

- Sponges

- Microbes (Bacteria + Archaea + Viruses)

- Miscellaneous (Brachiopoda + Bryozoa + Cycliophora + Kinoryncha + Loricifera + Micrognathozoa + Monoblastozoa + Placozoa + Rhombozoa + Rotifera + Tardigrada + Xenacoelomorpha)

- Extinct (Anything extinct)
