I'm currently playing on 1.20.1 and I'm trying to increase the spawn radius for all hostile mobs, but when I finally installed the mod (version 9.2.11), at first it didn't create the configuration folder until I did the "/incontrol reload" command. Then after the reload command was successfull, once I checked the newly created config folder,

all the .json files only contained two brackets in it.

That's intended. It's up to you to fill those in according to the wiki
