The issues I found are:
First issue(Veinminer): Issue #66 while yes it was fixed with ore smelter by itself, if you have both veinminer and ore smelter active and you veinmine the nether gold ore it will still drop insane amounts ingots instead of nuggets.

Second issue(ore smelter): Issue #58 was infact not fixed, and has gotten more broken as i have this issue with any tool, even vanilla tools. Gold, iron and copper all only drop xp and "air" when mined with oresmelter active, however if i use the veinmining ability the ores drop just fine.

Seems like something is messing with the recipes in a way, when bulk blasting iron or zinc with the Create mod I get the same effect. Gold is still working with both Ore smelter & bulk blasting for me.

Update:
Seems like theres no recipe for smelting raw iron or raw zinc in a (regular) furnace on the server. Gold does have a recipe so theres a correlation. All have recipes for smelting in blast furnaces though, possible fix?
