If possible, and if it'd not be too terribly hard to do, could a possible backport of the mod be done for 1.18.1?

Describe alternatives you've considered
I've tried moving to 1.18.2 to use this mod, but a couple of the mods I really like are currently 1.18.1 or 1.9 only (with no 1.18.2 option for any of them). Attempting to load 1.18.2 with the mods I like results in a failure to launch.

No additional context is necessary, I don't think.

There is an older 1.18 version that's 100% compatible with 1.18.1 (v1.1.3.5), however all versions older than 1.18.2 are no longer supported and will not receive any future updates, barring any major issues/exploits coming to light.
