Now allows setting the min enchantability and max level!

LootingVI makes it possible to set the max level and enchantability for all vanilla enchantments, where higher levels work.

You can set the max level for each enchantment up to 10 in the config file.

These Enchantments are:

  • Sharpness,
  • Smite,
  • Bane of Arthropodes,
  • Protection,
  • Fire Protection,
  • Projectile Protection,
  • Blast Protection,
  • Feather Falling
  • Respiration,
  • Lure,
  • Thorns,
  • Fire Aspect,
  • Riptide,
  • Knockback,
  • Impaling,
  • Piercing,
  • Punch,
  • Sweeping Edge,
  • Quick Charge,
  • Efficiency,
  • Unbreaking,
  • Depth Strider,
  • Frost Walker(Level only),
  • Looting,
  • Fortune,
  • Luck of the Sea,
  • Power,
  • and Soul Speed.

This is achived by overriding the getMaxLevel and getMinEnchantability methods of the enchantments to return a custom value!

This mod also adds a Creeper Kill enchantment that makes you deal almost infinity amounts of damage to creepers.

Configuration

The LootingVI config file works like this:

There are three integer fields per enchantment.

One of them is the EnchantmentLvl field, which sets the max level of the enchantment that can exist.

This applies to the enchant command, the creative inventory, anvil combiming, etc.

There are also the BaseEnchantability and EnchantabilityMultiplier fields.

These two, combined with the target level, can be converted to the enchantability value.

The equation for this is "baseEnchantability + (enchantmentLevel - 1) * enchantabilityMultiplier".

For example for level 5 looting this would be "15 + (5 - 1) * 9 = 51".

This enchantability value is used to determine what level of the enchantment you can get in the enchanting table.

This is done by checking the enchanting level from the enchanting table plus some random value that partially depends on the item to enchant is between the enchantability calculated above, and the enchantments maxEnchantability.

The maxEnchantability currently can not be configured, but is the enchantability from above plus some hardcoded value which depends on the enchantment in most cases.

So in the example from above(looting with the default config) the max looting level you can get in an enchanting table is 2 or 3, depending on the random value.
