This could be considered entirely cosmetic as there would be no difference in functionality between the controllers.
Using the same controller block for a Beam Engine (steam driven water pump), Large Diesel Generator Industrial Lathe, and Fusion Reactor feels a little weird.
Having several different tiers available would allow the controller to reflect the technological levels of the machines being created.
