Many mods already have a wrench capability, and modpacks that have Common Capabilities will add more wrench capabilities to other mods' wrenches.

It would be a lot more convenient for players and modpack creators if they could just craft a bus/hatch, and then swap between input and output modes using a wrench instead of having to craft the different blocks.
