Totem Teleportation

by MONPJC

NOTE: The PROJECT has only just started and in early testing.

Introduction

While having portals to transport you back and forwards between the Nether and Overworld allows for transportation the Villagers have often looked for alternative way of getting between villages without the need of getting killed in the Nether. So after lots of research they have harnesed the powers of Endermen into a Totem and apparently had nothing to do with a Enderman having one dropped on it by a nitwit.

The prinsiple is simple, once you have offered a totem (or two) a nice shinny Emerald and linked them togetter using a high tech totem key make of sticks and wheat you can then be teleported from one place to the other at just the cost of a gold nugget - nothing is free these days! And, If you wish you can even name them as villages often got lost as to where thay were going...

So if your lucky enought to find one of these then think yourself very lucky and think long and hard where you will place it!

FEATURES

⛏ Totem Villager Block, changes texture slightly and villagers eyes change when active or linked to another totem. These Totems can only be found in loot chests and are made of Stripped Spruce Logs.

⛏ Allows instant teliportation between linked totems but will cost you one gold nugget per use.

⛏ Activation is achived by offering the totem a Emerald.

⛏ Each totem can be named using a NameTag so that its easy to know where each one is.

⛏ Linking is achived using a totem key, crafted item that copies the name and location of the key so you can pass the information to another totem.

HOW IT WORKS

Finding Totem Blocks:

Totems can only be found in loot chests and are found as follows

Villager Temple Chest = 100%

Villager Cartographer Chest = 75%

Igloo Chest = 50%

Villager Toolsmith Chest = 25%

Using The Totem Block:

Once placed on the ground the Totem must be activated by clicking on it with a Emerald. You will loose the emerald as a cost to activate it. Once active the Totems eys turn green. If you break the block (using a axe) the block wil drop and no longer be active.

To name the Totem take a NameTag and give it a custom name in a Anvil. Then click on the Totem with the NameTag as if you was naming a Mob.

Crafting The Totem Key:

The Totem key is used to store information about a Totem so that it can be taken to another Totem for linking them. They can be crafted as follows using three sticks, two wheat and string:

Using the Totem Key:

With Totem key in hand click on a active Totem. This will copy its loaction and the name of the Totem if it was named with a NameTag. The Totem key will then glow and its stored information can be seen as a tooltip when hovered over in the inventory.

Once you arive at a second Totem that is active but not already linked, click again on the Totem and the stored information will be transfered. At this point the Totem Block will have its eyes turn blue!

If you wish to check a linked Totem and see where its linked to you can do so by clicking on the Totem and a screen will be displayed showing the location you are at and the name of the Totem you just clicked on, as well as the name of the Totem its linked to.

Teleportating:

Now you have a liked Totem block you can use it to teleport. This is done by simple clicking on the Totem block while holding a gold nugget. Each time you teleport it will cost you one gold nugget.
