Gregtech modern has been on Curseforge for quite a while now and is playable to a pretty good extent. However, despite using eu as energy unit, its energy system is not compatible with ic2 classic's eu system and would most likely require its own cables/connectors for the different voltage tiers. Note that there exists eu2rf/rf2eu converters in GT's base mod, but RF transfer speed would be bottlenecking in higher voltage tiers *eg: Luv voltage is 32768eu/t = 131072RF/t, which is way above what the base IE cables are capable of.
