What happened?

The Naturalist Snail Bucket does not have a registered crafting remainder (aka an empty bucket) in the item registry. While the uses for a snail bucket as an item are probably very niche, this means that any crafting recipes or entity interactions that would return the "container" return nothing instead. I understand that vanilla bucketed mobs also have no crafting remainder (which is technical debt as far as I can tell; tropical fish buckets being fed to axolotls and returning water buckets is hard-coded), so it's up to discretion ofc
