First, the issue. I don't know if this is intentional or not, but the infantry rifle is massive and looks super weird in third person view. A slight size reduction would go a long way towards immersion.

Secondly, the suggestion. I would like to see a flare gun (single shot breech-loaded pistol) which would fire a flare. The flare could be used to distract or maybe scare off hostile mobs or (in multiplayer) call attention to a position at long range. The flare could also be dyeable for more customizability.

1. Confirmed, it's rather large in third person view. I'll reduce the scale factor of the third-person model to bring it more in line with its intended size.
2. A Flare Gun might be doable in NZGE, but might require additional code beyond what can be done in this addon alone. I won't rule out a flare gun for either NZGE or another addon in the future though.
