Panoramas

The Panoramas mod provides a system for mods and resource packs to add new main menu panoramas to the game. Panoramas are loaded using the resource pack system and are displayed on the main menu using a weighted random system.

Included Panoramas

This mod comes with a few built in panoramas that will be available out of the box. These serve as an example for those looking to add their own panoramas in addition to providing some much needed variation to the vanilla game.

  • Vanilla (minecraft:vanilla) - This is the default panorama defined by Mojang. It will match whatever the default vanilla panorama for your version is.
  • Frozen Oceans (panoramas:frozen_ocean) - A view of the ocean surrounded by icebergs and polar bears.
  • Forest (panoramas:forest) - A view of a traditional Minecraft oak forest.
  • Kelp Sea (panoramas:kelp_sea) - An underwater view of a kelp forest with a sunken ship wreck obscured in the background.
  • Title Seed (panoramas:title_seed) - A recreation of the original Minecraft title screen panorama. This panorama was recreated by using the rediscovered Minecraft title seed.

Config Options

The 1.16.5 version of the mod will load a config file from the config/panoramas-client.toml file. If the file does not exist, you must install and run the mod at least once to generate the most up to date config file.

  • removedEntries - This option holds a list of panorama IDs. Every ID you place in this list will be prevented from displaying on the title screen. For example, removing "minecraft:vanilla" will disable Mojang's default panorama.
  • removedNamespaces - This option holds a list of ID namespaces. Any panorama in a namespace from this list will be prevented from displaying on the title screen. For example, specifying "panoramas" will remove any panorama with an ID that starts with "panoramas:". This includes all built-in panoramas.
  • maxDisplayTime - This controls the time in milliseconds to display the panorama. The mod will try to cycle to a new panorama after this amount of time has elapsed.
  • forcedPanorama - This option allows a specific panorama ID to be specified. When it is specified the game will only display this panorama and other panoramas will not be displayed on the title menu.

Panorama Viewer

This mod comes with a custom panorama viewer GUI that can be used to see all panoramas that have been loaded by the mod. This can be used to debug or showcase your custom panoramas. It can also be used to just have a look at all the different designs available. To access this GUI on Forge open your mods list and find the Panoramas mod. Then click on the Config button.

Custom Panoramas

The main point of this mod is allowing mods, resource packs, and modpacks to add their own custom panoramas to the game in a nice way that does not conflict or override other mods. Panorama entries are loaded using JSON files in all loaded resource packs. This system may vary from version to version. Please refer to the version specific documentation.

Panorama Packs

As resource packs and mods add support for panoramas using this mod I will include them in a list here! Currently there is no additional community content, maybe you will be the first?
