Certain blocks permanently lose footstep sounds under specific conditions

I've accidentally discovered that some blocks in my world no longer produce footstep sounds, as shown in the attached video:

Once this issue occurs, the affected blocks remain "muted" permanently—unless the block is broken and re-placed, or the world is reloaded.

In the video, the compost bin clearly loses its footstep sound when a villager is nearby. I’ve confirmed this behavior isn’t coincidental: in other worlds, placing identical block structures with a villager inside consistently causes the compost bin to become silent. Similarly, placing other entities (e.g., bees) in a confined space can also cause adjacent blocks to lose their footstep sounds.

Notably, the order of actions matters: If I step on the compost bin before placing a villager next to it, the footstep sound plays normally. However, if the villager is placed first and I then step on the compost bin, the block becomes permanently muted.

However, sound loss doesn’t always require entities to be present. In my survival world, I occasionally notice that a single jump landing produces no footstep sound at all. This seems temporary—I tried inspecting nearby blocks after such events but couldn’t identify any permanently muted blocks. I’m currently unsure how to reliably reproduce this entity-independent sound loss.
