Mixing barrel right click always returns iron bucket, even if other buckets used

When right clicking to fill mixing barrel with water, it look slike iron bucket is hard coded to be returned.
I tried installing a wooden bucket mod, the wooden bucket turned to iron bucket.
I woul dexpect theitem in hand to be returned empty
