PublicLAN

PublicLAN is a mod which gives you the ability to simply start a world and type "/makepublic" to get a URL that your friends can connect to. The main feature of this mod is the ability to make (as implied in the mod name) worlds that are "open to LAN" accessible to people outside your home network. All they have to do is open Minecraft, go to Multiplayer, click on Direct Connect, and type in the address that you give them. Only the host client needs the PublicLAN mod, so this works between Forge and Vanilla Minecraft players as well.

I have not tested it on Forge versions other than 1.12.2; however, it should work on all 1.12 versions.

ONLY ONE PLAYER, THE HOST, NEEDS THIS MOD FOR OTHERS TO CONNECT. Both can have it, but only one player needs it.

Usage:

  1. Install Minecraft Forge for 1.12.2
  2. Place "PublicLAN-*.*.jar" in your mods folder
  3. Launch Minecraft
  4. Open a Singleplayer world
  5. Press Escape
  6. Click "Open to LAN"
  7. Change settings as needed
  8. Open your world to LAN
  9. Type "/makepublic"
  10. Give the serveo.net address to whoever you want to join your world
  11. Have them connect via their Minecraft client
