Sorry this is hard to explain. On 0.6 you crash when you put the color-code with no text in the anvil, or delete the name with the color code still in the box. Additionally, when I crash like this, it also deletes the item!

I have tested putting an item with a blank name & a colorcode in a chest (editing it through nbt editing ways) and discovered that it crashes you to look in it. So I suppose that's where the issue is.
