Shields have now two stats:

  • Damage reduction on block: Blocking reduces damage by the given percent.
  • Damage reduction on holding: Holding the shield in the offhand now grants percentage damage reduction, even when not using it to block. 

Different shields will have varying amounts of block and passive protection.

Also adds 5 new enchantments which are applied to shields:

  • Blocking: Increase Block damage reduction by 10%
  • Last Resort: Chance to gain absorbtion hearts upon blocking on low life
  • Blindness: Chance to blind attackers on block
  • Knockback: Chance to knock attackers back on block
  • Slowness: Chance to slow attackers on block

The shield stats are set through the config:

  • Set Damage Reduction on Block
  • Set Damage Reduction on hold
  • Set Blocking cooldown

Shields which are not configured yet do get automatically added with generated default values, depending on the shields durability.

The more the merrier, as this mod changes how shields works it is best paired with other mods which add new shields to the game, like Spartan Shields.
