Describe the Bug
Issue: After creating a world, there is a random amount of time before it crashes. After a crash, it may often crash immediately upon rejoining the world. This is an issue that persists across multiple worlds and instances. The game will completely close without warning and quit to desktop. There is no crash log and logs just end. Also, out of memory crashes usually result in me having to restart my laptop because my desktop ui begins to bug out but it doesn't here which makes me wonder if it's something else
Methods to solve: So far I have tried removing mods and reopening the modpack. None of the client-side mods i've removed seemed to show any difference so I am starting from the ground up and readding the content mods in the modpack, then playing for around 30 minutes to see if there is a difference.
I'm sharing modlist mostly to see if anyone has the same issue with a specific mod since it may take a minute to add all mods and make sure they're on the same version
Steps to Reproduce
- Add modlist and double check to make sure versions match
- Launch game and create a world
- Play until crash. If OOM crash, increase memory (if possible) and play for longer until game force closes
- Relaunch world to immediately crash again

that's a good start. i just went through my entire modlist, adding one mod at a time and still didn't come up with results. yippee.
Only thing i can think of is that i updated a mod by accident which also happened to be the one that broke everything so now it and the modpack has no issues
Yeah, I had it happen on a second world now. RIP
Both times I've been riding a horse loading new chunks, don't know if that could have any effect either
I also just ran into this problem on my own modpack, The error that got thrown was the following:
[18:21:55] [Render thread/ERROR]:Unreported exception thrown!
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Cannot be NONE precipitation type
I believe this crash is caused when biomes like savannas or deserts which cannot rain attempt to have rain above them. I am not 100% certain on this, but I am going to do some testing right now. It may also be influenced by terrain generation mods like Terralith because of their extra biomes or something. Will report back in 1 billion years. goodbye
I'm inclined to agree, although in any of those biomes at the time. it does make me wonder if that issue happens outside of render distance, though probably unlikely
Figured out a temporary solution, although it's kinda annoying cause it removes the cool clouds. Just enable AMBIENT mode in the server config with this command: /simpleclouds config server set cloudMode AMBIENT
you may have to enable cheats to run that btw

this would make sense cuz i was in savanna and it reloaded chunks out of nowhere and then again and then it crashed and now i cant join it anymore
