Simple Steel is a basic mod that adds a new material to the game, which is of course, steel! Steel can be used to upgrade your existing iron tools and armor, sits comfortably between iron and diamond in terms of stats, and functions similarly to netherite but for iron.
Steel can be obtained by mining steel ore, which generates 10 times per chunk below Y level 64 in veins of up to 10 blocks. Smelting steel ore will produce a steel scrap.
When 4 steel scraps, 4 iron ingots and a piece of coal are placed shapelessly in a crafting table, a steel ingot is produced.
Finally, when an iron item is placed in the smithing table along side a steel ingot, it is upgraded to it's steel equivalent.
