Minecraft 1.21.4 - Sodium capping my FPS after 1 minute of gameplay

Playing Java Edition on Windows 10 Pro Edition

I just updated to 1.21.4 and noticed that my FPS is fine (running at 60 smooth), then suddenly it drops down to 30 and locks in. I can fix this quickly by pressing any key on my keyboard, but this is not an acceptable as a solution as the problem happens EVERY 60 seconds and I use a controller to play the game, not the keyboard.

I am using Sodium to manage my video settings, which seems to have a new feature in the 'Performance' tab, which gives the users two options under the 'Reduce FPS when' option:

1 - AFK
2 - Minimized
(there is no option to opt out of these, its either one or the other).

Now, this problem occurs despite that I am not AFK, nor minimized, If I use my keyboard at all, then problem stops. Since I use a controller, the problem is that Sodium thinks that I am AFK. One thing that might be part of this strangeness is that I use a mod called Midnight Controls which allows users to have dual input (keyboard and mouse simultaneously). I need this because my controller is hooked via DS4Windows, which allows me to send Keystrokes to the game via my controller).

It should be noted that my other instance of the game (1.21) running with sodium-fabric-0.5.11+mc1.21 does not experience this problem. I hope in a future release there is an option to simply opt out of this new setting because presently its either AFK or Minimized as the only options, and both seem to be fooled by the fact that I am using a controller.

Thank you !

EDIT - I am closing this because the 'Minimize' setting seems to work now, although the AFK thing still happens. Perhaps something to think about for future releases though.

The "reduce FPS when" options were introduced in Minecraft 1.21.2.

Have you tested without Sodium (but still with Midnight Controls) on 1.21.4?

I also wonder if it'd be different with Controlify.

Yes, my previous version of MC was 1.21 so I have never seen this new feature until now. I was surprised, and annoyed that there was no option to opt out. I really don't like anything capping my FPS for me, unless I tell it to.

I believe Midnight Controls requires Sodium. When I rolled back Sodium version while debugging the game wouldn't launch because it said Midnight Controls needed a newer version of Sodium.

I recently tested Controllify but found it quite buggy and inferior to Midnight Controls. In any case, I think someone besides me should test and see if the AFK cap is triggered while using a controller.

Thanks
