[1.12.2] Armor issues

Techguns mod adds a lot of different types of armor with its own mechanics of damage protection calculation.
It is logical to assume that this armor should surpass vanilla armor and armor from various low-tech mods in terms of the effectiveness of weapon protection.
Perhaps in version 1.7.10 it was so. But unfortunately in 1.12.1 the most common iron armor with armor class=15 works at the level of the most effective Techguns armor and diamond armor with armor class=20 and toughness=8 ignores most of the damage.
Protection enchantment or projectile protection enchancement makes diamond armor even more invulnerable.
On the other hand protection enchantment completely breaks the work of the mechanics of Techguns armor.

According to Minecraft Wiki, the maximum armor level is limited to 20, but can be increased to 30 with the help of enchantments.

Maximal armor stats in Techguns are clamped by 20.
The parameters "armor toughtness" and "penetration resistance" cannot be changed through the CraftTweaker. I did not find any other ways to improve the parameters of armor.
Please make Techguns armor great again.
1.7.10 armor was really powerful, 24 armor was like 96% damage reduction.
With 1.12 and the new damage system the calculations are different and I'm not really happy with them. Armor calculations need to be looked at, I'm considering reverting back to 1.7.10 formulas (Armors can have their individual calcs, so no global change)
Tested version: Techguns-1.12.2-2.0.1.2_2
Weapon used: Minigun with regular ammo
Armor: T3 Power Armor(charged)
Shots to kill: 75-85
Armor: Iron Armor
Shots to kill: 25-30
Armor: Diamond Armor w/o enchants
Shots to kill: 35-45
Armor: Diamond Armor with 2x Protection 4 and 2x Projectile protection 4
Shots to kill: 180-190
Armor: IC2 Nano Armor
Shots to kill: 190-200
Armor: IC2 Quantum Armor
Shots to kill: ~2000
Conclusion:
Usual Diamond Armor is still too OP.
IC2 armor absorbs all damage regardless of damage type and is very tough.
T3 Power Armor became twice more effective than before but still is too weak.
The real problem is enchants being too powerful and IC2 armors just absorbing all damage
Well, i think techguns armor need a good tweak on damage absorption. Getting killed in power armor with 42 pistol shots is weird. Is it possible to make armor absorb N amount of damage? Like pistol is 5-8 damage, and absorption is 10, this means nothing that deals less then 10 damage in 1 hit shouldn't damage user.
Today we noticed that ordinary wooden shields absorb all the damage done.
The shield can withstand three missiles, one atomic bomb or an infinite number of bullets from a minigun...
Okay, let me retest it again tomorrow to give proven data. Then i will return to you with 100% tested info
Well, no worries that shields provide the ultimate protection, it's kinda fun.
The issue is that minigun and some advanced guns doesn't make damage to shield durability, while pistol does. Is it possible to make it so each of weapons will damage shield at least for 1 durability per shot?
There needs to be changes to how vanilla stuff like enchants and shields behave to guns, I just hope it's not everything hardcoded. (likely it is).
The minigun and pistol shoot the same projectiles. so there should be no difference about damage to shields.
