(Note: Before I start talking about the mod, I just wanted to let you know that this mod was NOT made by me. This mod was made a long time ago by Jajo_11, the original mod page was deleted during that massive Minecraft Forums wipe where so many old forums were lost. I'm posting this mod on CurseForge so that people who want to get this mod again or missed out on it can download it here. So PLEASE do NOT ask for this mod to be updated to 1.12, 1.16, 1.18 and etc, because I can't make this mod. Here is the link to the original mod page archived in Wayback Machine: https://web.archive.org/web/20180110063949/http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding-java-edition/minecraft-mods/wip-mods/1446206-shadow-world-1-3-3-1-3-3b)

Introduction: Welcome to the Shadow World mod, this is a really old mod that has a lot of cool items and good amount of content. While tragically this mod was abandoned quite well into its development, it still has plenty of content to play around with, anyway enough about that. This is a mod that a ton of places to explore, the lore and appearance of this world states that this dimension mirrors the Overworld but much darker and has different inhabitants and resources. Bear in mind that the original premise of this mod was to explore this mod to research on the items and features, I had to do the research of this mod's features myself so I don't know how everything works exactly, and I may keep some information secret to prevent from ruining the fun especially if the diary tells you. As I said, I had to do the research myself so I may have missed some stuff, if you end up finding features and solved some riddles that I couldn't solve, be sure to let me know in the comments as then I can update the page if necessary.

Entering the Shadow World: This is the first and central dimension of this mod, you can enter this world in two different ways. You can build the portal to the Shadow World on an existing world, it is made with lapis blocks in a nether portal frame shape and is lit using a Shadow Lighter, this is flint and steel that replaces the iron with gold. You could also start a new survival in the Shadow World, there is a new world type called Shadow World that will automatically start you in the Shadow World dimension.

You can generate a survival starting in the Shadow World

--or--
Build a Portal out of Lapis lazuli like this one:

Light it up with a Shadow Lighter, which is crafted like this:

Now you should have a portal to the Shadow World:

Diary: This mod has a self-journaling system which records almost everything that you find in the dimension(the original page has stated not every block and item has been implemented yet). You are given a diary when you enter the dimension, but you could also craft one yourself with a book and shadow. You'll want to have this book with you all the time to record everything recordable in the mod, it also stores quests that you pick up from Travelling Dwarves, you can choose to select them to highlight them or remove them if you don't want them, and it also sorts the information you collect into tabs: Blocks, Entities, Mobs, and Other.

Blocks: There are a lot of blocks in this mod, I won't go over every single one as most are just generic blocks that are decoration or are just the shadow version of some overworld/vanilla blocks, but there is a picture below with most if not all of the blocks.

Ores and Compact Blocks: These are the different ores and compacted item blocks, the ores are only in the shadow world.

Azurite Or: This is the most common blue ore in the Shadow World. When mined or smelted, it gives an azurite gem.

Bloodstone Ore: This is the rarest red ore in the Shadow World. When smelted gives a bloodstone gem.

Soul Ore: This is a somewhat rare but very hard black ore to find due to the world being very dark, the ore also blends in very well with the shadow stone. When mined or smelted it gives a soul.

Umarite Ore: This is a very rare green ore in the Shadow World. When mined or smelted it gives an umarite gem.

Gamandium Ore: This is a somewhat rare yellow ore in the Shadow World. When smelted it gives a gamandium ingot.

Cookie Block: This delicious looking block makes up the ground in the Cookie World, you can craft it with 9 cookies in a crafting table. You can actually eat the blocks as if it were cake by right clicking it.

Chocolate Blocks: These blocks are basically the stone variants of the Cookie World, there are 3 types of chocolate, all 3 can be made into chocolate blocks, unlike the cookie block you can't eat these on right click.

Traps: There are several different kinds of traps in this mod, all of these are craftable but a few of them can be found naturally in some of the Shadow World structures.

Trap: This is your average trap block, it lights you on fire if you step on it. It can be crafted with a shadow lighter surrounded by shadow stone, but you can also find these in a couple structures as setup traps.

Jumper: This block is very dangerous as it shoots you 50 blocks into the air when you step on it, I would advise being near water(or quicksilver if found naturally) to save your fall. This block is crafted with a jumper item surrounded by shadow stone.

Heal Stone: This isn't really a trap but it looks like one, this block heals you completely when you right click on it. This block is crafted with a health item surrounded by shadow stone bricks

Invisible Stone: This block is one of the two traps blocks that aren't found naturally in the world, it makes you invisible when you step on it. This block is crafted with a shadow surrounded by shadow stone bricks.

Weather Toggler: This block more so a utility block than a trap, it toggles the weather when you right click it, though it will tell you that it only works in the Overworld. This block is crafted with an element sphere surrounded by shadow stone bricks

Utility Blocks:

Shadow Crafting Table & Advanced Version: What's a new survival dimension without its own crafting table? This mod also has an advanced version that has a 5x5 grid instead of 3x3. While the advanced one can craft like a normal workbench does, it is more specifically made for shadow crafting in this mod, some items can only be made in the advanced crafting table. The advanced workbench is crafted with the shadow workbench surrounded by 4 shadows and 4 shadow wood planks.

Soul Furnace & Golden Soul Furnace: The Soul Furnace is the overworld equivalent to the normal furnace, it uses souls as fuel, this is crafted with shadow cobblestone in the same shape as cobblestone to make a furnace. The Golden Soul furnace is the same thing but it runs forever, it is crafted in the same way but with a golden soul in the middle.

Cookie Spawner: This special block is interesting because when you right click it, it gives you lots of cookies. It can be crafted with a golden cookie surrounded by iron ingots.

Golem Eye: This block is specifically for building elemental golems in this mod, it is the equivalent of a pumpkin in golem building. This block is made with an element sphere surrounded by shadow dirt.

Pedestal: This is a very special and important block, while this block can also just be a display block for items, this is used for ritual crafting to make special staves. To craft this block, you need 4 shadow stone bricks in an upside T shape, and an azurite shard on top. You can also find this block in a couple of structures.

All Blocks:

Armor: There are eight different armor sets in this mod, most of them can be crafted but two them can only be obtained through trading. Note that some of the armor are around the same strength so you can just pick whichever color you like most. All craftable armor is made the same way as in vanilla minecraft using the material the armor is made from.

Dwarven: This is the dwarves' custom designed leather armor, it gives the same armor bars as leather but it actually lasts longer than diamond. It can only be obtained through trading with the dwarves.

Shadow: This black-stained armor is the weakest crafted armor, slightly weaker than iron but more durable. When you wear the full set you turn invisible and shadows will emanate from you.

Azurite: This is the most common armor in the mod next to shadow, it is slightly weaker and slightly less durable than diamond.

Umarite: This armor while slightly less common than Azurite is the same strength as it, but lasts much, much longer than diamond.

Bloodstone: This armor is a bit better than diamond, but has a little less durability.

Gamandium: This armor is the same strength as azurite but has a little more durability than gold.

Ancient: This is the strongest set found in the Shadow World. It is stronger and lasts longer than diamond. It is obtained through trading with the dwarves.

Angel: This is the strongest set in the mod. It gives way more armor than diamond but doesn't last quite as long. It is crafted using Angel Feathers, with the chestplate equipped the wearer can fly like they're in creative mode.

All Armor:

Tools: There are a lot of toolsets in this mod. Just like the armor, some share the same stats while others vary in strength. All craftable tools are made the same way as in vanilla using the labeled materials.

Shadow Wood: This is essentially the shadow version of vanilla wood tools, they last slightly less than vanilla wood tools.

Shadow Stone: This is the shadow version of stone tools, they last slightly longer than normal.

Shadow: This set is about the same strength as vanilla stone tools and lasts a bit less.

Azurite: This is the most common mineral toolset, it is about as strong as iron and lasts twice as long.

Umarite: This set of tools are about the same as azurite but last much, much longer.

Bloodstone: This set of tools are also around the same as azurite but last 3x longer.

Gamandium: This set of tools are actually pretty strong, higher harvest level than diamond but they last slightly less than iron.

Ancient: This is the second strongest toolset, only obtainable through trading with the dwarves. Better harvest level than diamond and lasts longer.

Meteorite: This is the strongest toolset, it is made from meteorite ore that come from asteroids. It is stronger than the Ancient toolset and lasts much longer.

Cookie: This is the weakest but most delicious set. It is as strong as vanilla wood tools, but you can actually eat them when you right click them, it does give the stick back.

All tools:

Scythes: These are special tools that are made from all of the above materials plus the vanilla materials(except for cookies). I don't know how to craft them but I assume they're made in the advanced crafting table. I don't know what purpose they serve other than fighting, because when you right click it uses durability but it doesn't seem to do anything.

Advanced Swords: Just like the scythes, there is an advanced sword for every material in the Overworld and Shadow World except for cookies. They are made in the advanced crafting table but I'm not going to give away how to craft them. They all have +3 more damage than their base sword.

Basic Sword: This is a basic sword, it is crafted from 2 normal stone and 1 stick, its stats are exactly the same as an iron sword. I don't know exactly what this is used for, but I assume it might be used for a crafting recipe.

Daggers: There are two daggers that don't have much durability but make up with quick movement. There is an Angel dagger and a Soul Dagger, they are crafted from a stick and either an Angel feather for the Angel Dagger, and a soul for the Soul Dagger. They do little damage but increase your movement speed.

Ground Slicer: This is a very cool and powerful 3D modeled weapon, this deals fourteen damage and gives you knockback resistance, but it slows you down a lot. This sword has 3 abilities, I won't give them away but I'll let you try it out.

Staves: There are a bunch of different staves in this mod, they are made from pedestal crafting, but at the moment I don't know exactly how to set them up. Maybe you can figure it out? You can also find dwarves and centaurs holding these sometimes. Each staff has a different ability and are useful in several ways.

Wooden and Common Staves: These powerless staves are assumed to be the base ingredient in crafting the other staves.

Water Staff: This staff places water when you hold and release right click.

Staff of Growing: This staff bonemeals the ground and saplings when you hold and release right click.

Staff of Teleporting: This staff throws an ender pearl when you hold and release right click.

Staff of Confusing: This staff confuses mobs when you hold and release right click. It will force mobs to turn away from you for a second if they're nearby.

Staff of Controlling: This staff controls mobs when you hold and release right click. It will force them to walk toward you if they are nearby.

Flight Staff: This staff lets you fly when you hold right click. Be careful with this staff because it doesn't fly you around like creative mode, it propels you in the direction you're facing at immense speed, its a bit hard to control.

Shadow Staff: This staff shoots shadows when you hold and release right click. The shadows deal decent damage and blind targets for 50 seconds.

Wither Staff: This staff shoots wither skulls when you hold and release right click. The skulls deal decent damage and withers targets for 30 seconds.

Blazure Staff: This staff shoots blazure scratches when you hold and release right click. The scratches deal decent damage and withers targets for 50 seconds.

Cookie Staff: This staff shoots cookies when you hold and release right click. The cookies deal decent damage and inflicts hunger on targets for 50 seconds.

Angel Staff: This staff pushes mobs away when you hold right click. Be aware that this staff has a range of around 50 blocks so I would advise to not use this near any pets you have, or they'll be sent to the other side of the world.

All Staves:

Biomes: As I said above, most of the biomes mirror the Overworld. Most are shadow versions of the Overworld biomes except for two new biomes. Be very careful traveling around, the generation is a bit wonky and it can spawn with lots of giant holes in weird spots and ravines that could lead into the Void.

Shadow Plains: The shadow version of the Overworld plains, it is made up of shadow grass and a couple of structures spawn here. Shadows and Shadow Slimes are residential to this biome, you will also find a lot of lights flying around too. Also sometimes you may see massive trees that cover the sky, great source of infinite wood.

Shadow Desert: The shadow version of the Overworld desert, it is made up of shadow sand, you can see a bunch of ravines too. Beware, this biome is very dangerous because Wolf Spiders spawn here and they spawn in packs. This is where you can find and fight the Shadow Wolf King, the first boss in the mod.

Shadow Forest: The shadow version of the Overworld forest, lots of tall shadow trees cover the sky here, Skeleton Spiders and Shadow Pigs live here, also very rarely you may find strange looking wolves.

Shadow Savanna: The shadow version of the Overworld savanna, not much to say about this biome other than this is home to centaurs.

Shadow Snow Plains: The shadow version of the Overworld snow plains, you can find a bunch of structures here too and Dark Lights & Evil Eyes are found all over this biome.

Shadow Taiga/Mega Taiga: The shadow version of the Overworld taigas, not much to say about these except that Dark Lights infest these, and also Evil Eyes.

Shadow Ocean: The shadow version of the Overworld ocean, this is a very dangerous biome to explore because it replaces water with quicksilver, you will need a boat or shadow potion to explore this biome. This is where you can find Jellyfish for glowing ink sacs.

Shadow Jungle: The shadow version of the Overworld jungle, not much to happens here but shadow dragonflies live here and you can find glow beans on the trees.

Shadow Swamp: The shadow version of the Overworld swamp, nothing really happens here, though Shadow Slimes and Evil Eyes do spawn here, just be careful of the quicksilver lakes.

Cookie World: The biome name is literally called Cookie World, the only biome in the Cookie World. This world is made up completely of Cookie Blocks, Chocolate Blocks, Cookie Trees, and Chocomilk. Only three mobs spawn here: Cookie Pigs, Cookie Slimes, and Hungry Cookie Slimes, none of which are hostile. Everything in this dimension is edible and is great for replenishing hunger, this is an infinite cookie paradise!

Dead Forest: One of the two unique biomes that you don't see in the Overworld, this biome consists of mostly dead trees. Passive spiders, Shadow Creepers, and Shadow Chickens live here and you can occasionally find abandoned trapped rituals.

Labyrinth: As the name suggests, this is home to a large structure, the Labyrinth. Outside of the of the Labyrinth structure, this biome is extremely dark and hard to see in, the shade of the shadow grass is darker here. Be careful here as there are three dangerous mobs that reside here: Shadow Creepers, Evil Eyes, and Shadow Chickens.

Dimensions: There are a total of three dimensions in this mod, all three have completely different environments, atmosphere, resources, and creatures to find in each.

Shadow World: The first and main dimension in this mod, this dimension resembles the overworld in many ways but in a much darker tone. Most of the content of this mod is found in this dimension, you can't go to the other dimensions without going here. Also note that this dimension is possible to survive in without anything from the Overworld, nothing in this mod generates in the Overworld. Be careful when exploring this dimension it's pretty dangerous, and also the terrain doesn't always generate smoothly, there is lots of uneven terrain, random holes, and ravines littered all over the dimension so watch your step.

Cookie World: This dimension is interesting and very delicious, it is made completely of sweets, chocolates and cookies. There aren't many mobs in this dimension and none of the mobs that do spawn here are hostile, so this dimension is completely safe and edible. There isn't too much to do here other than visit to replenish hunger and have fun eating everything.

Angel World: This is the final destination in the mod, it is a floating angel village in the sky. This dimension is home to Angels that you can trade with like villagers, and also flying pigs. There isn't much to do here either but this is where you can get white angel blocks for building, the angel armor set, a flying pig pet, and flying boats. I will note that there are floating islands that can be found on the outskirts of the Angel Village, they vary in size but don't really have much to them as nothing spawns out there.

Structures: There are a ton of structures to be found in this mod, most of them only spawn in specific biomes and some of them are very rare and hard to find.

Abandoned Portal: An old portal left behind by whoever was in this world previously. You can finish it up to activate if you want to go to the Overworld from there. These are only found in the Shadow Plains.

Ritual: These are magical circles left behind that are used for magic pedestal crafting, I don't know exactly how to do the ritual correctly, but maybe you can figure it out. These are found in most of the biomes in this dimension except for the ocean, savanna, jungle, and swamp.

Trapped Ritual: These are old partially built rituals that kind of show how to set up the pedestals to complete the ritual, but the catch is that this ritual is trapped. These are only found in the Dead Forest. It has a chest but for some reason nothing spawns in it, I think this is a bug, but I wonder if there is something else happening underneath...

Bunker: These are underground bunkers left behind by those who lived here before. This is basically like a starter home in this dimension if you find it on the first day. These are found in the Shadow Plains and Snow Plains.

Azurite Altar: I don't know what purpose this serves but it's a small structure of four, two-block pillars of shadow stone bricks with azurite blocks on top of each. At least this is free azurite blocks. These are found in the Shadow Plains, Shadow Forest and Shadow Snow Plains.

Shadow Tower: These are tall, dark structures that has very good loot if you're well prepared for it. They have a jumper block at the bottom that shoots you up the center of it to climb the rest of the way up. There are two double chests at the top with pretty good rewards but there are also four zombies spawners guarding it. These spawn in the Shadow Plains, Shadow Forest, and Shadow Snow Plains.

Shadow Dungeon: These are essentially the Shadow World versions of the Overworld dungeons. They look exactly like the Overworld ones but are made of shadow cobblestone and mossy shadow cobblestone, and a shadow chest instead. The chest contains loot from this dimension and the monster spawner surprisingly hasn't changed from the Overworld ones, these don't have Shadow World mobs in the spawners. They spawn in exactly the same way as Overworld dungeons, so you can find them everywhere underground.

Shadow Pyramid: These are medium sized, blue pyramids that spawn pretty rarely in the Shadow desert. They have plenty of loot to find in them, but it is heavily trapped, there are multiple ways for it to blow up and lose all the treasure. There are a bunch of chests to find but two of them are bugged because nothing generates in them. The blocks are unbreakable by a player's tool, but anything else can break it.

Shadow Castle: These big, floating castles are very rare structures that only spawn in the Shadow Snow Plains. These were left behind by those who lived here previously and this could make for a great base if you decide to take over it. There are several chests to be found in this structure with good dungeon loot in them, so this structure is a jackpot. There are a few spawners found around this structure, but I think they're bugged because nothing shows on them or spawns from them.

Dwarf Lamp Post: These simple structures don't do anything in particular but every time these generate, this indicates that a travelling dwarf is nearby. These are found in most of the biomes except for the obviously dangerous shadow ocean.

Dwarf Treehouse: These are small decks high up in trees, they have some dwarf lamps and a crafting table, and they also have a large chest with some starter level loot. These spawn in the Shadow Forest and Shadow Mega Taiga.

Dwarf House: These are houses to dwarves that are protective of their territory. These spawn in the Shadow Plains and Snow Plains and there are three variants that can be found. These always have a dwarf spawn in them, you might see the dwarf leave sometimes, these also spawn with chests with very valuable and hard to find loot but the owners do not tolerate thieves.

Dwarf Stronghold: These massive and ancient structures are home to hundreds of dwarves that reside underground, these are basically underground villages. While the structure on the surface has two huts that look exactly the same adjacent to each other, underground the structure generates very similarly to the Overworld stronghold, just much less dangerous. These structures spawn in the Shadow Plains, Snow Plains, Forest, and Desert.

Shadow Wolf King Platform: This pretty uncommon structure is the throne to the Shadow Wolf King. These don't serve another purpose other than generating with the Shadow Wolf King standing on top of it. This only spawns in the Shadow Desert. One thing to note even though it doesn't matter much, but there is TNT under the stairs for some reason even though there isn't really a way to trigger it.

Elemental Temples: These are super rare structures to find in the Shadow Snow Plains, these structures took me the longest to find as they are pretty small, they blend in with the snow and are just very rare in general. There are four variants, pertaining to each element: Fire, Water, Earth, & Air. There will be two chests, one chest that contains one elemental stone that the temple is based off, and the second chest has a ton of items in it that relate to that element. There is also a 2x2 cube made up of blocks that also relates to the element of that temple.

Cookie Portal: These are very rare structures that only spawn in the Shadow Plains. This is the only way in survival mode to visit the Cookie World, so this is a rare privilege. The structure serves no other purpose than housing the Cookie World Portal made out of Gold Blocks, there is no way to re-light it if it breaks so protect this portal very carefully.

Cookie House: These are somewhat uncommon small structures that spawn in the Cookie World, this is the only structure that generates here, they also seem to only spawn on top of the chocomilk lakes. They look similar to a small village house but it is made out of cookie logs and chocolate. These always spawn with a double chest inside that contains tons of cookies, chocolates, and everything sweet that can be found in this dimension.

Labyrinth: These are huge maze-like structures made out of blue dungeon stone, so you can't break through it yourself, on top of that, you can't go over the walls as there is a force field that slows you down immensely if you try to cheat and climb over them, it's like being stuck in webs but 2x as slow. There are lots of different rooms, traps, and treasures to find in this confusing place. The Blazure boss resides in the center of the Labyrinth, it's a very powerful boss, but fear not, sometimes in a Labyrinth you may meet an ally who will help you prepare for the boss fight. There is a really good reward at the center that is definitely worth the trouble, and there also other secrets that the center hides.

Angel Village: This is the main island/structure that spawns in the center of the Angel World. This is a massive, multi-part structure that has a castle and two sub-village sections, all housing Angel villagers and some grass islands where Flying pigs colonize. There are lots of chests to be found here, but I'll leave it up to you to explore this paradise in the sky.

Special Items: There are a ton of different items to be found in this mod, some are very important for progression in this mod while others are just for fun and messing around.

Shadow Lighter:  This is the first item you will get in this mod if you haven't started in the Shadow World, this is used to light the portal frame to enter the Shadow World. When you click on the ground it lights a shadow fire, this fire doesn't hurt you or entities, and you can't extinguish it unless you break the block under it. It is crafted like flint and steel except you use gold instead of iron.

Shadow Potion: This is a special potion that when consumed, gives the quicksilver potion effect, this makes you immune to the health negating effects of quicksilver making it safe to travel in. This potion is obtained from trading with dwarves.

Shadow Coin: This is the currency in this mod, this is used for trading with dwarves and angel villagers. You can get these from dungeon loot, completing quests, and multiple crafting recipes but I'll leave that to you to find out.

Black Feather: This is a drop from the Shadow Chicken, this is used for crafting crossbow arrows and magical paper.

Glowing Ink Sac: This is a drop from Jellyfish, it is used for crafting magical paper.

Zombie Slayer: This is a neat item that instantly kills zombies(it actually does 100 damage if the zombie has a ton of health), does not work on most modded zombies unless they are modeled and designed close to the vanilla zombie, it also works on zombie pigmen. It is found as dungeon loot or obtained through trading. I don't know if there is something else that it does at the moment.

Dungeon Finder: This works just like eyes of ender, they guide you to the nearest dwarf stronghold. They are found as dungeon loot or obtained through trading.

Jumper Item: This is an interesting item that makes you jump high, and the longer you hold right click, they higher you jump. It is found as dungeon loot or obtained through trading.

Health Up: This is a very useful item, each heart you consume gives you one permanent heart, it can stack too so you can have over 20 hearts of health, it does go away when you die however. It is found as dungeon loot or obtained through trading.

Shadow Compass: The Shadow Compass points you to the block you link it to by crouching and right clicking a block. It is found as dungeon loot, obtained through trading, or crafted with a Shadow Crystal surrounded by 4 gold ingots.

Soul and Golden Soul: Souls are important items in this mod, they are used for a bunch of different purposes, including soul furnace fuel. They can be found as dungeon loot and are also dropped by most of the mobs in the mod, there are also other sources to find souls but I can't list them all. Golden Souls are very rare, these are only obtained from the bosses in this mod. They are used to craft the Golden Soul Furnace, there is another purpose for this but I'll let you figure that out.

Hell Lighter and Holy Water: The Hell Lighter is a special flint and steel that is only obtained from trading with the dwarves, the fire it lights is very bright and it can't be removed in any way except for right clicking it with Holy Water. Holy Water is a rare item that is found in one of the structures, it's only purpose at moment is for extinguishing hell fires.

Elemental Stones: These elemental stones alone can be used as projectiles that cause different effects. These stones can be found in their aligned Elemental Temples, but they could also sometimes be found in the Labyrinth. The Element Sphere is the big sphere item that is crafted from combining all four elemental stones, it is a very destructive projectile but also is used as a component in crafting the elemental golems.

Shadow Crystal: This is a very important item in the mod, this is used for two crafting recipes and has two very important purposes that I won't give away here. These are found as dungeon loot rarely and also obtained from trading with the dwarves.

Multi-color Crystals: I'm not sure exactly what these crystals do, but they all have crafting recipes revolving around gold.

Magical Paper: This is an important piece of paper used for bringing the elemental golems to life.

Crossbows & Arrow: These are special ranged weapons that are crafted using the advanced crafting table, they require crossbow arrows to shoot.

Dark Melon: These are dark versions of Overworld melons, they are pretty much exactly the same. These generate in the Shadow Forest and Shadow Savanna.

Shadow Berry: These are harvested from Shadow Berry Bushes which spawn in the Shadow Jungle and Shadow Forest. These fill 1 hunger bar and don't give effects.

Glowshroom and Glow Beans: These are grouped together because they do the same thing, when you walk on top of a glowshroom it will give you nausea and another potion effect which completely distorts your screen, making it very hard to see, it also can be made into mushroom stew that will do the same thing. The Glow Bean does the same thing when consumed.

Eyeball: This is a strange drop from the Evil Eye, these eyes come in a variety of colors and have the +10 Mob follow range attribute which doesn't really do anything.

Note: These are found all over the Shadow World in dungeon chests and from dwarves. These contain important pieces of information and hints that help with solving the riddles of progressing in this mod. You can craft your own by just putting paper in a crafting grid, it works just like a book and quill.

Backpack: These are exactly what you expect them to be, they carry items for you when you open them, it has the same storage space as a single chest, plus it has a diary slot on the side for when you want it to hold you diary. I don't remember exactly how to get these but I assume they are obtained through trading with the dwarves.

Quicksilver: This is a very dangerous liquid found all over the Shadow World, when you step in it, it reduces your health overtime until you reach two hearts, then you must die to regain your health back.

Blazure Amulet: I won't spoil anything on this, but know that this is something that helps with protecting you against the Blazure boss.

Shadow Bucket: This is the shadow version of the Overworld iron bucket, it is crafted from three azurite gems in the iron ingot shape like normal.

Ancient Bow: This is a powerful bow with a 3D model. When you draw back the arrow, the screen zooms in, when you release, the bow shoots fire arrows. This bow is obtained from trading with the dwaves, you may occasionally find dwarves and centaurs holding these.

Azurite Shard: This is a small shard of azurite that drops sometimes when mining azurite ore, there aren't many uses for it but it is used for crafting the pedestal and it has one other use that you'll have to see for yourself.

Desk and Chair: Two decorative items that are just basic furniture, the desk is made with shadow planks in a helmet shape, and the chair in a chair shape in the crafting grid. The desk can have a crafting table or chest added to it by right clicking on it with either of those blocks.

Baked Cookie: A delicious cookie that comes from cooking a cookie, it fills 2 hunger bars.

Sugar Cookie: A sugary cookie that fills 5 hunger bars and gives speed 5 and jump boost 5 for 30 seconds.

Golden Cookie: A tasty cookie that fills 5 hunger bars and gives absoprtion 10 for a minute and 40 seconds.

Diamond Cookie: A very hard cookie that fills 5 hunger bars and gives resistance 5 for a minute and 40 seconds. (Basically Invincibility)

Chat Cookie: This is a strange and seemingly useless consumable, it fills 0 hunger bars and when you eat it, it talks to you. There isn't a crafting recipe for this, it is obtained through trading with the dwarves and found rarely in the cookie house.

Chocolates: There are three kinds of chocolate in the Cookie World, they all do the same thing, they all fill 1 hunger bar and give no potion effects.

Chocomilk: This is the brown liquid that forms rivers and lakes in the Cookie World. This is very useful because when you stand in it, it gives you regeneration 5.

Cookie Sapling: These are sweet saplings that are used for growing the cookie trees found all over the Cookie World.

Flying Boat: This is a special flying vessel that is only found in the Angel World. You can control it by looking in the direction you want to go in, you can also place an angel chest or an ender chest on the boat to access when you open your inventory.

 All Items:

Enchantments: There are a few enchantments this mod adds, at the moment they are only obtained the normal way using an enchantment table, most of them are sword enchantments.

Poison: As the name suggests, it poisons your targets for 10 seconds and the potency of the poison effect increases per level. Max level is 3

Freeze: As the name suggests, it freezes your targets for 10 seconds, the effect's time span increases per level. Max level is 3, it doesn't just apply slowness, it literally incases the target in ice and they can't move.

Darkness: This enchantment blinds targets for 10 seconds, the effect's time span increases per level. Max level is 5.

Light: This enchantment deals extra damage to mobs from the Shadow World. Max level is 5, but for some reason the damage doesn't seem to show unless the enchantment is at the max level. (Like for levels 1-4, it doesn't seem to add any damage and then at level 5 it adds 1 or 2 damage points)

Holy: This is a very overpowered enchantment, I won't say what it does but just know that it's an armor enchantment that only applies to the Angel set.

Mobs: There are a ton of different mobs you can encounter in this mod, a lot of them are passive but there are also a lot of dangerous creatures.

Passive Mobs

Light: This is an ambient mob, it has 2 health and flies around like a bat. It spawns in almost all biomes and can spawn in 3 different colors, it drops a soul and glowstone dust on death.

Passive Spider: This is a peaceful environmental mob, it has 8 health and doesn't do anything. It spawns in the Dead Forest and it drops a soul and string on death.

Jellyfish: This is an environmental mob that spawns in the Shadow Ocean, they have 10 health and they can spawn in a bunch of different sizes. It doesn't do anything either, it's the squid equivalent in this mod, it drops glowing ink sacs on death.

Shadow Dragonfly: This an ambient mob that spawns in the Shadow Jungle, it has 6 health and can spawn in a bunch of different sizes. It drops nothing on death

Shadow Pig: This is the shadow version of the Overworld pig, these spawn in the Shadow Forest. They have 10 health and can be ridden like a normal pig, except these pigs can fly. They drop a soul and shadows on death.

Dark Light: This is a strange ambient mob that spawn in the Shadow Snow Plains and Shadow Taiga. They have 6 health and for some reason eat light sources. They drop a soul, glowstone dust, and shadows on death.

Cookie Pig: These delicious looking swine are the primary inhabitants of the Cookie World. They spawn all over the Cookie World and can be found in clusters. They have 10 health and are actually edible, if you right click them, you can eat them piece by piece even if you aren't hungry. When slain they drop cookies.

Cookie Slime: These cute and cuddlly amoebas look so delicious you'll want to eat them, you can't though. These spawn very commonly in the Cookie World too. They vary in size like normal slimes and their health factor is the same as normal slimes. They aren't hostile even though they hop at you, they emit hearts when they touch you. They drop golden cookies when they die.

Hungry Cookie Slime: These are the strange cousins of the cookie slimes, these ones have eyes and function differently. These are noticeably much rarer than the other two cookie residents. They also vary in size in comparable to vanilla slimes, when you right click them with cookies they can grow bigger to a limit. You can also make them sit when you right click them, they don't do anything in particular. They drop cookies when they die.

Flying Pig: These majestical animals are native to the Angel World. They have 20 health, and they can spawn in 3 different colors: Normal angel, Pink angel, and Black angel. You can ride on them and as you can guess, they fly. You can also tame them and then you can have them sit, I won't give away how to tame them. They drop porkchops on death.

Angel Villager: These are the divine civilians of the Angel World. They have a variety of trades that ask for items from the Shadow World in exchange for Shadow Coins. They have 20 health, you can't hurt them though, other things could still hurt them but they are immune to direct attacks from players, they drop nothing on death anyway.

Neutral Mobs

Shadow: These shady creatures resemble zombies but behave like endermen. They have 10 health and drop a soul and shadows on death.

Shadow Wolf: These are bigger and darker versions of normal wolves. They behave exactly like normal wolves, they have 20 health (though they may glitch and show 40 health) and they drop nothing when they die. I'll let you see how to tame them.

Dwarf: These are the villagers of the Shadow World, these specific dwarves are found in the dwarf strongholds and only make trades, they don't talk. They have 20 health and can offer trades for various items from the Shadow World. They do know how to defend themselves so don't tick them off. They don't drop anything when they die.

Travelling Dwarf: These guys can be found all over the Shadow World, wandering as their name suggests. These are the most diverse mobs in the mod: they spawn with different names every time, they spawn in four variants, they have different stories to tell, and they can spawn with random equipment. They have 20 health and wander around a lot, even into danger. These guys are incredibly useful in progressing in the mod, they always spawn with a dwarf lamp post but they may not always be near it by the time you get to it, I'll let you have fun with talking these short nomads, have Shadow Coins ready because these guys have a lot to sell. When they die, they drop nothing for the most part except for what they were holding in their hand.

Centaur: These mythical creatures inhabit the Shadow Savanna, they are passive for the most part, they retaliate if you hit them but quickly forgive you. They have varying health based on the horse's health factor, they even spawn in different color horse bottoms, they can also spawn with staves and ancient bows in their hand. They drop leather when they die, they could also drop the item they're holding.

Hostile Mobs

Skeleton Spider: This boney arachnid spawns in the Shadow Forest. It has 15 health and just pounces on you like a spider does, they also blind you for 15 seconds when they hit you. When slain it drops normal spider drops, plus bones and a soul.

Wolf Spider: These are more dangerous than the previously mentioned spider. These spawn in the Shadow Desert, they have 20 health and they are pretty strong, they are especially dangerous in packs. They howl like wolves do and they attack the dwarves. They drop normal spider drops plus a soul.

Shadow Slime: These gelatinous phantoms spawn in the Shadow Plains. Their health factor is the same as vanilla slimes. When you slay them, they split in reverse, they get bigger instead of smaller, this is a very annoying mob to fight. When they die totally, they drop shadows.

Shadow Chicken: These dreadful fowls are not docile like their Overworld counterparts, these spawn in the Labyrinth biome and the Dead Forest. They have 16 health and drop normal chicken drops but black feathers instead. Don't be fooled by the eggs they lay, they are very sus...

Shadow Creeper: These unholy exploders are much more dangerous than their Overworld counterparts, they spawn in the Labyrinth biome and Dead Forest. They have 20 health and literally pull you in and explode, their explosion is stronger than a normal creeper too. They gunpowder when they die.

Strange Wolf: This is a very dangerous wolf, it's diary entry gives a hint as to what it does. It has 20 health and spawns very rarely in the Shadow Forest, it drops gunpowder on death.

Evil Eye: This disgusting ghoul can be found flying around like a bat in several different biomes. It has 20 health, it can spawn in multiple sizes and different eye colors, it attacks when it sees you. It drops glowstone dust, a soul, and an Eyeball on death.

Lost Soul: This spooky spirit haunts the wicked halls of the Labyrinth. (I assume it was also supposed to be in the spawners in the Shadow Castle). It has 20 health and attacks with its shadow scythe. It drops its pumpkin, a soul, and its scythe on death.

Elemental Golems: There are four elemental golems that can be built like iron golems. They all have a unique ability that helps in demolishing mobs. You make them in the same shape as an iron golem using specific materials, the golem eye serves as the pumpkin, and then you need to right click the eye with a magical paper to awaken the golem.

Fire Golem: Made with netherrack, it lights targets on fire, it has 50 health. When it dies, it drops a fire stone.

Earth Golem: Made with Shadow Dirt, it launches targets with an small explosion, it has 50 health. When it dies, it drops an earth stone

Water Golem: Made with lapis blocks, it gives targets slowness and for some reason knocks them under the ground, it has 25 health. When it dies, it drops a water stone.

Air Golem: Made with wool, strikes targets with lightning, it has 75 health. When it dies, it drops an air stone.

Bosses: There are three bosses in this mod, all three of them are very powerful and shouldn't be taken lightly.

Shadow Wolf King: This is the first boss in the mod, you can find it on a Shadow Wolf King Platform in Shadow Deserts. It has 250 health, it's a giant shadow wolf with three heads resembling Cerberus. It's method of attack is shooting fireballs at you and calling for shadow wolf reinforcements every now and then, take it out fast though because it also regenerates 5 health every few seconds. When it dies, it has a horrible death animation where it blows itself up sporadically for 3 seconds, killing everything around it, get behind cover or you WILL die from this. After it's death animation, it drops a bunch of experience and a Golden Soul.

Blazure: This is an optional boss that you can fight if you find the Labyrinth and navigate to the center. It has 250 health, it fights very similarly to the Wither, except its much more deadly. It's scratches that it shoots out inflict the wither effect the same way as the Wither, sometimes it shoots a bunch of them in all directions at once that do even more damage. This thing also has a pretty devastating effect on the landscape, it ruins everything. It has pretty high defense and it regenerates health so you need a good ranged weapon and melee weapon to damage it. There is an amulet made to help you in fighting this monster, though I'm not actually sure how it helps, but I won't say how to get it. When this abomination dies it has the same death animation as the Shadow Wolf King so get behind cover, on top of that it inflicts you with wither 4. It also drops a Golden Soul with lots of experience.

Angel Boss: The Final boss in this mod, you'll follow the notes and stories from the dwarves and take the steps that will lead to summoning this boss. It attacks you with a sword pretty quickly, every now and then it will rise into the air emitting out a bright light, and summon a lot of lightning bolts. It has 200 health and a little bit of defense, it also is really good at staying close to you, knocking it away will make it fly back toward you in a homing manner. When you defeat it, it will rise high into the sky then lots of lightning will strike it as it bursts into experience. It drops 8 angel feathers and the portal to the Angel World.

Creative Only and WIP Features: These are a couple of features that aren't fully implemented, creative only, or I probably don't know how to obtain them in survival mode.

Basic Ring and Amulet: These aren't fully implemented yet but they go into the ring and amulet slots in the survival inventory. These were going to be the base ingredients to craft more rings and amulets.

Portal Placer: This is a creative only item, it basically just places a fully built and lit Shadow World portal.

Twin Daggers: I don't know if these are obtainable in survival because I couldn't figure out how to craft this, but it combines the Angel and Soul Daggers, it gives the same speed boost as the daggers individually but it does more damage, plus you are dual wielding these.

Other Runes: There are a bunch of other runes made from the other ore resources in this mod, I don't think they work as they aren't craftable yet.

Contact Lenses: I don't know how to get these unless these are also creative only. I also don't know what exactly they help in seeing because I don't see what magical invisible things the changelog indicated it would find.

Teleport Cookie: This cookie is creative only, it teleports you straight to the Cookie World.

Soul Cutter: This weapon is an upgrade to the Ground Slicer, I don't know if it's obtainable in survival because there weren't any hints to a recipe for it. I'll let you try out the abilities too.

Asteroid: This is supposed to be a rare event that happens, sometimes asteroids will fall from the sky but I have not seen this happen for the longest time I've been playing this mod. If you get this event or know how to trigger it let me know, it spawns meteorite ore when it crashes down which is used for crafting the meteorite toolset. (Fun fact: This counts as an entity and I was able to summon it using the /summon command, but it disappears immediately afterward so that doesn't help at all.)

Demon: This is a tiny WIP mob, it's unobtainable in survival and was supposed to be added in a summoning GUI feature that was never finished. There is a keybind for it but it does nothing. The Demon was supposed to help you fight mobs but at the moment it doesn't fight them, its neutral to you though and drops nothing, when it dies it just fades away.

Trophies: These aren't obtainable in survival either, nor are they placeable to display the mob that it's labeled. This mod adds a trophy for every mob added from all the mods currently installed (at least those found in the creative miscellaneous inventory).

 Installation:

1. Download and install minecraft forge for minecraft 1.7.10.

2. Put the jar in your mods folder inside your minecraft folder (run minecraft with forge once if you don't have one)

3. Start Minecraft and Enjoy!

If you are running optifine follow these instructions to fix texture bugs:

1. Start Minecraft
2. Go to options...->video settings...>quality and set "Random Mobs" to "OFF"
3. Restart Minecraft

The brightness command
Since version 1.0.5 there is a "Shadow World Brightness" command. This command changes the brightness. This is useful, when you can't see anything in the Shadow World, or if you want to record a video for YouTube. To activate the higher brightness, you type "/shadowworldbrightness true". To deactivate it, type "/shadowworldbrightness false". You need op permission to perform the command. (At the moment, it doesn't seem like this command is working.)
