[ INTRODUCTION ]
You just wanted to play minecraft after a long day of hard work.
But in loading up a new world you stumbled across the world seed the omen has been dormant in, and disturbed his rest.
This is a Horror/fantasy exploration mod that features multiple strong entities, new mobs, 3 new dimensions, tons of items and a as of now 2 chapter long campaign. I made after having a ton of fun playing a horror modpack, which inspired me to make a creature of my own! The slumbering omen is a lost soul who took the form of a tall distorted humanoid and resides in a random world seed.
(This mod is not associated with dwellers. It as a dark fantasy mod with a plethora of content and not another mc nextbot)
But The slumbering omen isnt the only one in the world.
[ BASIC INFO ]
This creature can spawn in all dimensions without spawning everywhere, and only one can exist at a time so he will be around but he wont be all up in your face all the time.
The omen can squeeze into tight spaces, stalk you, watch you and even has the ability to speak basic english.
this creature wont just hunt the player relentlessly like most, it instead enjoys toying with its victims with an unpredictable pattern of behavior, often choosing to inflict debuffs to the player instead of direct attack, rarely even being beneficial to the player.
The omen can be seen watching, stalking, or even sometimes messing with the player by going after crops, animals or torches. He can even be seen just lazing about periodically.
But when the omen does decide to attack its a force to be reckoned with.
This creature has become far too self obsessed for its own good and believes itself above everyone else, perhaps you could put them back in their place.
When this creature hunts it has a few more tricks then just attacking with melee so its best to be prepared if you choose to fight him. This includes a variety of magic magic attack as well as a piercing screech.
This creature has a bunch of other features ill let you discover by yourself.
Mods such as Ambient sounds, Hardcore Darkness (or any other pure darkness mods,) and Dynamic lighting are recommended for the maximum spoopyness!
[ HELPFUL TIPS ]
(Holding a distorted ender pearl gives the shielded effect. For those unaware of what the shielded effect does, when you have shielded on and the absolute dread effect runs out, the omen wont execute you and the pearl will be consumed instead.)
(Why is crushing omen randomly damaging me? Crushing omen and Absolute dread both make the player begin taking damage when standing in the dark so its recommended to have torches or stay in torchlight when under this effect)
(How do I obtain modded materials? Materials are dropped from the mobs of the mod including scouts, mangled mobs and distorted mobs. Omen materials are obtained by hitting the slumbering omen with the chipclaw weapon, so you don't need to kill him to obtain gear from him.)
(I know I already mentioned this but attack his feet to deal damage)
(What to do when locked in a jumpscare! When near the omen when he's walking or chasing after the player he sometimes sends a jumpscare at them. This is a special jumpscare that shocks the player and freezes them in place until they click ESC, This isn't a bugged jumpscare but actually an intended feature of the omen so the player has something else to think about when being chased, or fighting the creature.)
(How does pursuit work? Pursuit is a rarer interaction and is hard to understand if it isn't explained. When being pursued the player will be get a visual cue and custom music will begin playing. after this the omen will be heading directly towards the player, When being pursued if you walk normally the omen will move at its standard pace, if you sprint it will get faster and if you sneak it will get slower and if you jump it will gain a short boost of speed, so the player has to move strategically to avoid being caught. the omen will also do a less aggressive version of its spike attack and break blocks if its close enough to the player so boxing yourself in a corner isn't an option.)
(pressing alt will remove all jumpscare trigger effects from the player, i believe that I've fixed all the visual bugs already but I added this feature in the unlikely scenario of a visual bug happening)

(HOW TO PROGRESS THE STORY, SPOILERS AHEAD!!!)
How to beat the mod.
To beat the mod you need to collect all 4 peices of the torn photo.
The first is obtained by killing the omen so it wont be easy to get.
The second is obtained at a 50% chance when killing a mangled enderman.
The third is obtained by walking up to the omen when its watching, if the give interaction triggers theres a 50% chance the omen will give the player the 3rd photo peice along with some diamonds.
The Fourth is obtained rarely by giving the omen ominous berry treats when its passive or at an altar of offering, when passive the omen will walk around not doing anything, just hanging out and even does a little dance ocassionally.
Once all peices are obtained they can be fused together in a crafting table using 1 slimeball.
After that got some logs, sticks and planks, combine the photo with them in a crafting table to create a framed photo.
After get the omen to chase you and click on its hitbox with the photo.
This will trigger a set of dialogue, with a bit of lore (fredy fazbear) after which the omen will vanish and give the player an extremely powerful weapon called "delirium."
After this the omen will no longer be hostile towards the player and will only appear in friendly ways such as doing nothing, sitting around and giving the player items when they walk up to it with no risks. The omen will even defend the player if they are attacked!
If you want to keep playing with the omen in its hostile state with your new weapon then you can craft the "enigmatic vortex" this will reset the main quest and cause the omen to behave regularly again.
(Also his canonical name is tiso, before he became the omen of course)
[ WRAPPING UP CHAPTER ONE. ]
To get to chapter 2 you will have to finish chapter one first.
for the first thing. if you have already befriended the omen in your world before this update released you will have to run /summon the_slumbering_omen:endcutscene to get the correct trigger to switch on. only do this if you have already defeated the omen before this update released.
The first thing you'll notice is the message "distorted creatures are invading the overworld" this is a serious problem as the monsters who spawn in the distortion including the minibosses will be able to enter the overworld.
Among other things, this means daraku has recieved a significant buff and will spawn with around 300 extra health and higher base stats.
First you will need to kill daraku again. upon death he will drop a new item, the radi'ite soulgem. This can be used to craft the sigil of purification.
Once the sigil of purification has been obtained you will need to find the slumbering omen again. once you have found him right click him with the sigil of purification to revert him to his human form.
Tiso will be a very important part of progression as he will give you most of your story quests.
Once you have gotten tiso to follow you to a location you can easily access him from click mission and your first quest will begin.
Tiso will remark how darakus presence is nullifying his senses, but due to daraku fleeing instead of dying killing him wont work.
Instead you will need to kill him again to get another soul gem and craft the chains of nullification.
Once you have obtained them right click daraku with them when he is chasing you. This will trigger an animation that will strip darakus absorbed power away. after this point daraku will appear in the world randomly he can he spoken to or hit for a small amount of daraku materials. but he will generally hate you.
After this will you will return to Tiso and click mission in his menu to trigger chapter 2.
[ CHAPTER 2 ]
Once in chapter 2 your target will be any biome that has a low enough biome temperature to be considered a snow biome. these are biomes a new adversary glykaris will appear.
Glykaris is much less intelligent than the omen and prefers to smash its victims heads in instead of the mind games the omen plays.
New ice spikes will also appear in the ice biomes. breaking theme drop loot or spawn some custom mobs.
Your first goal will be finding and defeating glykaris. doing so will unlock your newest story quest and drop some glykaris materials.
Once glykaris is defeated he will retreat and trigger your next story quest when talking to tiso he will mention the resting grounds. The place entities go to rejuvenate their strength, this place is also the home world of the scouts.
do note that the resting grounds is a risky place to go as you will be sent to 0 0 in the dimension once entering.
but you will need to go there to finish off glykaris.
once you kill glykaris he of course wont stay dead instead you will be tasked with crafting a soul canister out of glykaris materials which will allow you to capture glykaris and purify him in the canister.
These canisters also allow you to pick up and relocate any NPC.
Once you do this glykaris will be cured and the main story part of chapter 2 will end.
[ DARAKU SIDEQUEST. ]
(NOTE the entity you face in this sidequest is a superboss with 2000 health. if its really difficult, its supposed to be)
in order to access this sidequest, you will need to craft a radi'ite charm.
Gifting this item to daraku will cause him to hate you less. which allows him to behave like a regular npc.
Daraku can then be brought back to your home or somewhere you want him to be.
Clicking mission will cause daraku to give you a kinda nonesense quest he only gives you so you will go away.
Completing this quest will cause daraku to get a little more faith in you and he will explain how his disciples have been fighting something in the deepest layers of the abyss, but without daraku there they may end up failling and the creature may escape.
daraku will give you the voidbreaker. you will then need to right click the bedrock at the bottom of the distortion to turn it into twilight broken bedrock. which will allow you to access the abyss
(NOTE! if it is night in the overworld the vantablack reaper will hunt you nonstop if you are in the abyss so go during daytime!)
once you kill the vantablack reaper. life will begin returning to the abyss and new mobs will spawn. you can refight vantablack by crafting a lumen alter and using a heart of the ancients on it.
Returning to daraku will end the quests and give you an item called absolution.
The reason one would want to do this is for the void weapons and armor the vantablack reaper provides.
Vantablack armor is basically extremely buffed daraku armor which will buff all your void weapons.
