high oven output [scorched bricks] using coal & sand pops out as item even when duct is set to accept output

as stated in title. Making scorched bricks but the output pops out instead of going into the duct.
I have not picked up and put down the controller after adding those duct blocks, i replaced normal scorched bricks with them. (dunno if that matters for testing.)
