Bug Info
Summary: This is a low-severity, non-destructive, obtrusive bug that CAN be prevented by the player, albeit to their chagrin in most cases due to requiring they change their build technique or the materials they use in said builds.
Description: When attempting to hover your cursor over a large section of logs connected to each other, a significant FPS drop is incurred on the client, even when the logs aren't connected to any leaf blocks, and that's the bug for the most part.
Additional Notes
If you're experiencing this bug as well, just give this post a ๐ instead of replying. It reduces clutter and saves everybody's time.
Also, I'm aware that this bug likely won't get fixed by the developer, so this post was mainly created with the intent to document the problem so as to save people some trouble since I understand that not everybody thinks logically like I do and would immediately think to try removing the tree chopping mod. I know that may sound a bit silly to some of you but I've had it happen a few times when helping people with other mod-related issues. Hope this post helps somebody.
Hey Delfite, thanks for reporting! You're right that I probably won't get around to fixing this, as I don't have the time to support older Minecraft versions. However, I'm pretty sure the fps drop is caused by the chop indicator. You can disable it treechop's in-game settings screen (bound to n
by default). Disabling chopping (maybe using the "only chop while sneaking" setting) will also disable the indicator
