I don't know if you're aware of this issue, but the compatibility with Multimine works well on 0.18.3, and then completely fails on further versions.
I've tested it with all the versions above, I've set the logs/wood blocks on true in the config files but it won't work in survival.
Note : It seems to work fine in Creative though.
I've updated my modpack to version 0.18.3 until then, hope this post helped 👍

Hey, thanks for reporting. Careful with the 0.18.3 version - it fixed Multi Mine issues, but it broke modded items that break more than one block at a time. I'll see if I can fix this, but I've had a lot of trouble with Multi Mine in the past, so no promises

As of TreeChop 0.19.1, I got around this issue by disabling MultiMine while chopping. Only for Minecraft 1.19.2 at the moment, will port to 1.20.1 and 1.21 shortly.

If you alternate between 2 wood blocks, when almost breaking it, you can cut the tree
