do what doc does and make the hitbox move to the center of the bed, or make it smaller

Whoops. Ok I see, I'll eventually do that :)

As I have my own collision boxes on the tanker truck bed, I could also simply lower the size of the part (width)
I don't really know how to offset the default hitbox...
