Options to add custom block layers and transitions into dimensions

- Layers of custom block type, height and thickness that are generated similar to Bedrock layers.
- Noise-field gradient based generation of layers or transitions consisting of two (or more) block types.
- Conditional version of the above based on existing blocks.
Is there any way to disable the purple block layer? I'd like to dig from the Overworld to the Beneath to the Nether, and (aside from the unavoidable loading screen) have it feel like I'm just digging down deeper into the earth, rather than digging down to find a mysterious portal.
These purple blocks are required because they represent the blocks in the adjacent dimension and perform the teleportation. They allow you to interact in some extend with the blocks in the neighboring dimension, stand on them to not immediately fall back down when teleporting upwards and they make sure you would actually have room to stand in the other dimension when arriving there.
The only thing I could do is change their texture.
