On a blank character, I applied the Diamond Aspect. No effect seemed to kick in - no potion effect was shown in my inventory menu or anywhere else (this is with full health - it's my understanding that Diamond Aspect only works when these hearts are unbroken). I went into creative mode and made 8/10 of my hearts into Diamond Aspect hearts, and still took just as much damage initially as without any armor at all. Indeed - no status effect is getting applied here.
