[Witchery Bug] Unpredictable animations and crashes with 3x3 rituals and low TPS

Description
I'm not 100% certain if this is still an issue or if Ash fixed it, but I recall playing on my server and having some TPS problems when I used a small ritual. The 3x3 ones with just chalk.
The problem isn't a loss of TPS, though, it's the particle animation accompanying the effect which was added by W:R. If the TPS is low, the animation continues going on the client, and doesn't finish when expected.
The animation just keeps going and changing, and if the low TPS or freeze goes on long enough, the animation will reach a state where it crashes the client.
My guess is an overflow of some kind, but I don't know for sure as I no longer have the logs.

Steps to Reproduce
The more details are provided, the easier will be to reproduce and analyze the issue, thus more chances to solve it

  1. Try to run a small circle ritual
  2. Have low TPS or stalling on the server side, but not the client
  3. Wait long enough with the animation going and see things go weird and die

Crash Report / logs
Sorry, this was years ago, and it might not even be an issue anymore, but I figure I might as well bring it up for you to take a look at. If it is still an issue, it would be nice to see it fixed.
Otherwise, yay Ashley! I think I talked to her about it, but I don't remember if things got fixed.
