The issue that I originally thought it was, was incorrect. I managed to add the Tinkers Construct weapons to the list, and they can use the skills, but cannot cut grass to get loot, or break the clay jars.

Also, it took a relaunch of the game for the skills to work for some reason, after adding the swords to the list.
