Has Minecraft become too easy? Take the Zombie Lord Challenge and try Minecraft as a zombie!

Braaains!

This stand-alone mod is meant as a fun challenge for experienced Minecraft players. With this mod you play as a Zombie Scion, a sort of half-zombie, half-normie creature trying to make your way in the world. (Yes, you burn in sunlight. No, you're not super slow.)

How long can you last? Can you reach the exalted level of Zombie Lord?

Gameplay elements include:

  • Tons of challenging advancements, some that reward you with in-game benefits
  • Forcing Villagers to offer you tribute by slaying their Iron Golems! =D
  • Zombie foods with unique benefits (hint: it is possible to achieve some permanent benefits), including Braaains that drop from Villagers, Pillagers, and the like
  • Exposure to sunlight will cause you to burn unless you wear a helmet, in which case your helmet will take damage, just like a zombie. Beds will let you rest during the day, rousing you at dusk.
  • A unique system that limits mining and building by requiring zombified players to spend levels to break or place blocks - the tougher the block, the more levels it costs. Certain advancements lessen these costs, allowing zombified players to gradually upgrade to work with more and better blocks.
  • The ability to become a Zombie Lord, causing unwounded Zombies to no longer be hostile towards you (but if they get hurt, they'll blame you!). Lordships over other fell creatures are also possible!
  • Find hidden advancements, Easter eggs, etc. - have fun!

I'm especially interested in play testers that record their experience with the mod. If you post your videos, I'll watch them and make adjustments based on your experience.

So...install this mod (requires Forge 1.18.2) and head to the nearest cave to try your hand at the Zombie Lord Challenge! Can you survive a day? To stone tools? Iron tools? The nether? The End? The Cure???

Feedback welcome!
