Welcome to the Zoology of the World of Withernauts!
This mod adds several tough monsters with unique animations and next-level enemy AI that'll spice up your next caving experience.
This is a secondary, stripped-down version of the upcoming comprehensive overhaul to vanilla, Withernauts, that only has some monsters, nothing else. This has no combat overhaul, quests, NPCs, worldgen, etc. This is for the modpack makers that want far better than horribly boring and static enemies. If you'd like to follow along with the ongoing development of the main version of Withernauts, join our discord!
Introducing the Monsters
Skeleton:
Dual cleaver-wielding Undead, sturdier than the bow-wielding skeletons you're used to, these are not afraid to get up close and personal. They roam the surface and close beneath the surface.
Glob:
It is believed that creatures like the Glob once lived exclusively in water. But now, the Glob is sightless but very aggressive, it is believed that it sees by feeling the movement of the water droplets in the air of subterranean caves. They lurk deep underground and offer up a challenge to even the best equipped prey.
Booglin:
Sentient molerats that lurk at the deepest parts of the earth. They carry powerful drills that can pierce the toughest of armors, and with a keen sense of smell, can even surprise foes through entire walls. If you're mining and hear the faint sound of a drill or the grunt of a Booglin, get ready.
Vampire Bat:
Thought regular bats were annoying? the Vampire Bat occupies caves and relentlessly chases their prey with lightning-fast speed.
Patriarch and Brood Spider:
The worst of the worst. The Patriarch can patiently rest on the ceilings of caves until an unfortunate prey comes sauntering along, when it'll launch into action. The Brood hide closeby Patriarch Spiders, until they burst into a cloud of toxic gas.
Axebeak:
Territorial birds with beaks shaped like an axe. They usually travel in packs, making them exponentially more dangerous if encountered at night or aggro'd during the day. However, try feeding some of them some meat, who knows what might happen?
For Modpack Creators:
You are free to add this to your modpack without contacting me. If you make any modifications however, you must clearly specify to your users that you are using an altered version of this mod.
The default configuration values are set so these enemies are not only somewhat rare (about as common as Enderman assuming no other mods are present), but also pack quite a punch. If you'd like to make them spawn more frequently, I recommend lowering their attack strength.
This mod is best paired with a cave mod like Yung's Better Caves, it allows these mobs more room to move around.
DEPENDENCIES:
This mod requires Forge and LLibrary v7.9.
