Age Progression System

Age Progression System

81 Downloads

This mod adds various Ages to your Minecraft progression.

No longer will you gather some food and wood and then go mining to come out of the mine in full iron gear on your first Minecraft days.

In this mod, you will start in the Stone Age and need to find flint in order to craft your first tools and weapons.

In the Copper Age you will explore the various Biomes and look for surface ores.

In the Bronze Age you will learn how to process Copper and Tin with the corresponding Alloy Furnace into Bronze. Now you can go mining.

In order to proceed to the Iron Age, you first need to find a way for properly smithing the Iron into Ingots.

Also check out my ADDITIONAL MOD "AGE PROGRESSION SYSTEM HARDCORE".

In this mod you will be doing all this under heavy forces from outside - namely Zombies who smash your walls, Skeleton Sieges who will shoot from much further distances, Spiders trying to trap you in their webs and sometimes even Creepers trying to blow your walls aways for the upcoming Zombie invasion.

However, if you prefer the more peaceful version, stick to this one.

Also READ THIS to not get stuck in your first experience, because many mechanics vary from Vanilla Minecraft.

Below I listed the tips for each Age:

Stone Age:

- No Tree Punching: You canĀ“t chop wood with your hands

- Gather Flint: You need to find flint in gravel

- Flint knapping: On a hard surface, hold flint and right-click to have a chance to produce flint shards, with these you can craft your first Flint Knife

- Plant Fibers: WIth the Knife you can harvest fiber from grass and turn it into string

- Flint Hatchet: With string, a stick and a flint shard you can craft your first Flint Hatchet. Now you can chop wood. To turn logs into planks, you need to place the logs on the ground and right-click them with a hatchet to turn them into planks. The same way, you can turn planks into sticks. Later on you can craft a saw and craft planks in your crafting window with it.

- Furnace: Changed Recipe, you need clay to craft the furnace

Tips:

Classes from Level-Up-Mod which include additional chance for Flint gathering: Miner and Archaeologist

Copper Age:

- You need to travel to find your first Copper Ores

- There are two types of Copper Ores (and Tin Ores): Surface Ones and Deeper Ones, with your Flint Pickaxe you can only mine the surface ones!

- You need to travel and explore small caves just beneath the surface to find Copper

- With Copper you can craft better weapons like the Copper Dagger or Copper Mattock

Tips:

Leather Armor has increased Durability, you might consider crafting it

The Backpack grants additional inventory space (look for the Hotkey in settings), you need 8 leather to craft it.

Small Clay Vessels can be made out of clay and fired in a furnace. Each one can hold up to 4 items, together with the backpack you can take much stuff with you. Very practical, since the Copper Age is an Age of Exploration and Wandering.

Bronze Age:

- You need the Alloy Furnace to proceed to the Bronze Age (requires 9 copper ingots)

- You can smelt Copper and Tin Ingots together into Bronze Ingots

- With your first Bronze Ingots you should craft a Bronze Pickaxe, with this one you will be able to mine the deeper ores (Copper and Tin)

- You can already mine Iron Ores now, but in order to craft Iron ingots you first need more Bronze to craft the Crushing Block needed to smith Iron Ingots. You should definetly first craft better weapons and armor from the bronze you will gather.

- Also the Bronze Age unlocks your first hoe in order to start farming

Tips:

With Bronze you can already craft the Anvil.

Repairing Items at the Anvil does not increase the level cost of items to repair or enchant them

With Tin, Copper and Bronze you can already craft various items, you would normally need Iron to, including: Shears, a Shield and Buckets

You can craft a Saw now. (Place it in your crafting window above logs to create planks)

Iron Age:

- You need enough Bronze to craft the Crushing Block.

- Mine Iron Ores and smelt the Ore into Iron Nuggets. Turn the Iron Nuggets into Iron Bars. Place the Iron Bars on the ground (as Item not as Block!) and let the Crushing Block fall onto it. This will create Iron Ingots.

Tips:

In some dungeons included in my Modpack you can find a fairly amount of Iron.

Further Progression:

Diamonds are a bit rarer in this mod.

There are Treasure Chests in the Dungeons which sometimes include Diamonds.

Mithril requires Nether Resources to craft something from it, so does Black DIamond.

The Mod includes NetherEx, a big Nether Expansion and DaVincis Vessels.

Recommended Activities:

Explore the Ocean and look for Pirate Ships with your own Ship.

Build an Air Balloon and explore the Nether.

For an even more realistic Survival Experience you can go into Mod Options within the game and under the Mod "Tough As Nails" turn on Thirst and Body Temperature.
