Apocalyse: Dawn
Apocalypse: Dawn is a realistic and difficult zombie apocalypse modpack, where players can try to rebuild society from scratch while fighting off hordes of zombies. It features guns, tanks, planes, swords, armor and more. Players will explore the world, occasionally finding remains of civilization as they go, and gathering resources such as wood, stone and ores while avoiding or fighting off zombies that will progressively become stronger and gain new abilities such as stealing from chests and breaking blocks. Vanilla features such as health have been changed, fictional vanilla mobs (excluding zombies) have been removed and there are new things players will have to keep track of such as thirst and body temperature. Over time, players will have to find creative solutions to the many problems they will face, such as the scarcity of resources and food. They will have to adapt to sudden changes to continue surviving.
With mods like Tough as Nails, Serene Seasons, True Darkness, and most importantly Zombie Awareness, Mob Sunscreen and Improved Mobs, this modpack is incredibly hard to survive in. Other notable mods are Hardcore Torches, Simple Planes, MrCrayfish's Gun Mod and Trajan's Tanks.
In the game...
At the start of the game, players will be in what's basically the stone age, having nothing and needing to get resources realistically. They will have to find gravel and break it, pick up some twigs and make themselves a flint hatchet to start getting wood. Or instead, you could kill a nearby mob for bones and knap them with flint in your other hand, to get bone shards for making a bone pickaxe or bone knife. What will you do first? The choice is yours, but choices are important in this world. Later on you will have to start getting food, but that isn't easy because the zombies probably killed all the nearby animals to stop you from using them. Will you explore far out and get more animals, or will you start a farm? The choice is yours once again. Eventually, you will have a lot of resources and be able to craft more advanced weapons like medieval swords and armor, and later, guns and tanks. That is, assuming everything went well for you.
