Meatballcraft tries to answer the question "I reached the endgame for my kitchen-sink modpack, what do I do now?"
This is done by implementing a progression system that makes use of the end-game mechanics and resources provided by the majority of the mods in the pack (with the exception of quality of life and a set of late-game progression mods). This means that a lot of the nice things of modded Minecraft (a large AE2 network, a few 100Ks RF/t power gen, 30 damage sword, creative flight) are already available when you really start progressing through MeatballCraft.
This is where you'll get to build Mythical Resource Miners, visit some neighboring star systems (maybe a black hole?), explore many of the crazy worlds from DivineRPG and Advent of Ascension, discover your true self (maybe?), enter the nightmare world of Vethea (where your inventory may or may not get reset), and face challenges never seen in the modded world (to my knowledge). To prevent the late game from getting grindy, 99.99% of craftable items are automatable soon after they become available (generally after defeating a few bosses), and a few key achievements will bring in a few extra goodies (because at some point everybody needs a Draconic Sword). Of course, if you have to automate everything you'll need some pretty good resource generation, so don't be surprised if the Torcherino and single-block, high yield mobfarms become available at some point.
Instead of an incredibly nested crafting chain that leads to creative items, meatballcraft offers a set of wonderfully crafted (I'm very proud of these), overpowered multiblocks. The fact that the ability to see 2147483647 diamonds in my AE2 network was the sole reward of many of the packs I've played sometimes left me a little disappointed; so instead, in MeatballCraft your unlimited power supply will come from a Dyson Sphere, and the spinning beams of a Pulsar will allow you to obtain 1500 crops from a single seed!
Just a heads up, this pack has A LOT of automation and gated recipes. Not quite on the level of GT:NH, but it gives an idea...
Automation will involve extended crafting, fluid crafting, many magic crafting mechanics, and a lot of multiblocks, as well as the machines we all know and love (and tech reborn).
Needless to say, expect to use a lot of AE2 channels.
In order to help you with this, there are many logistics mods, which are listed here for convenience.
- Logistic Pipes
- Applied Energistics 2
- AE2 Stuff
- AE2 Wireless Crafting Terminal
- ComputerCraft
- Opencomputers
- Compact Machines & ME Capability Adapter
- ExtraCells 2
- ExtraCPUs
- Integrated Dynamics & NBT & Tunnels
- Logistics Bridge
- Xnet
- PackagedAuto & PackagedExCrafting
- Thaumic Energistics
Botania is a tech mod, but, here, so is Thaumcraft!
Meatballcraft has all your favorite magic mods (and Bewitchment), but with a twist. In order to streamline progression, and to make things a bit more 'interesting', some core magic mechanics (such as warp) have their own custom progression system, and, at the end game of each mod, a few custom ('OP') weapons and items become available.
In addition to this, for each magic mod, autocrafting and automation eventually become available thanks to a large array of custom multiblocks.
This means that, eventually, every magic mod turns into tech!
You are the physicist that just opened up the first wormhole in humanity's history, but something goes wrong.
You got sucked into it, and now you're stuck on Terra, the homeworld of the Testificates, and a battleground for the universe's rarest mineral, dimensional shards! The supreme masters of space-time, rulers of the Twilight Horde (DivineRPG) and the Shyre Empire (Advent of Ascension), have chosen Terra as the center of their galaxy-spanning conflict, and it's up to you, an emerging scholar of the laws of the universe, to put an end to their despotic rule, and to finally bring peace!
The best thing about kitchen-sink packs is the OPness. While trying to be 'balanced' (and being a progression pack...), MeatballCraft lets you enjoy some of that overpowered goodness (power flowers, mystical agriculture, creative flying, etc.) with relatively minimal gating (Avaritia and Draconic Evolution are still late-game). Wanted an early game Destruction Catalyst? Sure, but this doesn't mean things will be easy! Gamestages will make sure that zombies never become one-shottable (maybe), singularities will appear in recipes a little earlier than you might expect, Dragons may have gotten a little beefier, and if you think your 30 damage sword is too powerful, you haven't fought against the Hive King!
Meatballcraft progression uses a ton of machines and mod mechanics, so large cool bases are encouraged!
If you built something cool, HMU on discord!
