What is OneBlock?

OneBlock is a survival map made by IJAMinecrafts in which you stand on a lonely block floating in the void. You can mine the same block over and over, and it gives you basic materials that slowly become better and better. You go through certain phases, and the infinite block slowly upgrades to better blocks, chests and new mobs!

FAQ from website:

Which phases are there?

There are 10 phases in total. Plains, Underground, Snow Biome, Ocean, Jungle Dungeon, Desert, The Nether, Idyll, Desolation, The End. Each phase features a set of blocks, items, and monsters appropriate for the setting However, random blocks from previous phases may also appear.

How many blocks are there in the 10 phases?

There are currently roughly 7000 blocks. Most of the phases have around 700-800 blocks, except for the earlier ones, which are a bit shorter.

What happens after the phases?

After you mine the final block of the tenth phase, an incomplete end portal will spawn below the infinite block. After that, the infinite block will still spawn blocks. There is an infinite number of blocks that can appear, and after the tenth phase, they're randomly selected from all the 10 phases. After the tenth phase, items in chests and mobs that spawn are also all randomly taken from all the phases.

Why do certain blocks spawn more frequently than others?

Each block has a certain weight, and this weight defines how likely it is that they'll appear if the infinite block spawns a random block. This weight is roughly equal to how large the pre-defined amount of this block is in all phases.

Which mobs can the infinite block spawn?

A certain set of mobs is defined to spawn, which includes most hostile mobs, all neutral mobs (except for the trader llama), and all passive mobs (except for bats). Boss monsters and utility mobs (like the iron golem) won't be spawned by the infinite block. All mobs that can be spawned by the infinite block will be spawned at least once. After that, there are random spawns, so you may get them again. Besides that, you may get any mob that can naturally spawn.

Which chests can spawn?

There are normal chests, which only contain random items from the current phase. After phase 3, the second type of chest can spawn, which can contain items from the current, as well as previous and future phases.

Can you get items, mobs and blocks from earlier phases again?

Yes. There are super chests, which may contain items from the current, previous and future phases. There are random blocks, which can be blocks from earlier and the current phase. Mobs spawned by the infinite block only spawn in that specific phase, but can also spawn again from the infinite block in the Afterphases. If you can't wait that long, they also just normally appear e.g. like sheeps spawn on grass blocks.

Do mobs spawn naturally in the world?

Yes. Mob spawning is enabled in the map. Though the map is completely a Plains biome, which means that only mobs that can spawn in the Plains biome may spawn naturally.

Are there different biomes?

The map supports 10 phases, each with a different theme, which may relate to one or multiple biomes. However, the Overworld of the map is only set in the Plains biome. That means, everywhere you go in the void, you have the environment of a Plains biome, regardless of what the infinite block spawns.

Are there naturally spawning structures?

Yes, structure generation is enabled by default. This means, that nether fortresses, end cities and similar structures may spawn in the alternate dimension!

Is it possible to reach the Nether in this map?

Yes, it is. Nether blocks and obsidian can be obtained in phase 7 and later phases. Lava buckets may be available earlier in certain chests, but you'd need to be insanely lucky to get enough to create a nether portal before reaching phase 7.

What is the end goal?

It's pretty much what you want it to be. You should be able to do pretty much everything you can do in a normal Minecraft world, given enough time. A good goal might be for you to defeat the ender dragon. But it could also just be to build the greatest sky castle there ever was. It's all up to you!
