Keep in mind that this is only recommended for users that have a good amount of cores available on the CPU.
Head into the config folder and locate a file called forge-client.toml,open it in a text editor.
Now look for alwaysSetupTerrainOffThread, change it from false to true. Hit save.Restart the game for the changes to take effect.

Be sure the launcher you are currently using is on the latest Java 8, 64-bit version.
You can do this by putting -version:1.8+ in your java paramaters.
