What is this Modpack?
You Have 7 Days to Die is inspired from 7 Days To Die from the Fun Pimps, a game which involved the player gathering resources, crafting up weapons, and building a base in order to defend against a horde that comes every 7 days. Zombies in this game have the ability to break blocks to get to the player which adds a whole new element of surprise and challenge as you find the best materials to prevent them from getting into your base while you deal with the countless numbers.
Most of all these features have been added to Minecraft which is already not too different from 7 Days to Die, however most of Minecraft's normal base game mechanics have been left in. For example in 7D2D blocks can collapse if not supported properly, in Minecraft this would be hard to implement. I have considered finding a mod that does this however the thought occurred to me that this about smashing both these games together and I'd rather keep some Minecraft-like features so it doesn't feel like a complete rip of the other game. Not only that but the mods compiled into the pack already fit each other pretty well and adding more will surely just break it. Currently, Zombies have insane abilities that can quickly change your once thought impenetrable fortress into a fight for life. Not to mention the supernatural forces that haunt you as well. You will have to setup a base that can prevent all attacks from all sides. Sentrys, spikes, and fall traps may be the only thing standing between you and the hungry undead awaiting you outside your clumsy walls..
Features!
-Zombies, Skeletons, Spiders, ect. all have advanced AI that will certainly challenge you to your limits.
-If one becomes injured you will have to heal your wounds, and if you are playing with someone you can also revive downed survivors.
-Start from the Flint Age and work your way through Iron all the way to Diamond.
-Every 7 days a horde will come with buffed attributes and strong armor, you will need to prepare a defensive base in order to survive the Horde.
-Craft Pistols, Shotguns, and Bazookas to defend yourself from the hordes of infected!
-Hunt Wildlife for food, and use campfires to purify water for drinking.
-Manage your Temperature as your environment changes.
-Build reinforced blocks to slow down incoming Undead.
-Try to figure out what happened to the world through a Lovecraftian style story.
-Ravage the Cities and Ruins to find the best loot to aid your survival!
Goal!
While there is no set end game, the basic premise is to try and survive past day 7 and onward. With each 7th day survived, the horde becomes increasingly difficult, eventually leading to Mutant Zombies, and other strange creatures to storm your base.. how long will you survive for?
Notes
Currently still being tested so feedback is welcomed!
We're currently still editing recipes to fit the crafting stye of 7D2D. However the crafting difference between the games forces some compromise as trying to fully replicate the crafting would be a whole conundrum on it's own. However, it will be added properly in future iterations of the Modpack.
First Night Guide!
-Find flint, and lot's of it. You'll need for tools!
-Break grass for plant fibers which you can use to craft string, and eventually bandages!
-If you breakdown leaves they can drop sticks for crafting.
-Craft a flint axe and start chopping trees for wood resources.
-Use your wood and make a campfire to purify water easier and cook your food fuel free!
-Lastly find somewhere to make a base, preferably high up, or shelter in a building made of strong materials.
-Last but not least, use your flint to craft yourself a Crude Sword, and a Crude Pickaxe that'll enable you to go into caves and mine iron for later progression!
Also use your experience to level up your character which will unlock more items for you to use!
-After all that it'll be your decisions that will determine your survival! Good luck to you out there Survivors!
