[Bug] Incorrect shadow render with Distant Horizon (solved)
vianneynara opened this issue ยท 6 comments
Describe the bug
The distant horizon releases ha this issue where the shadow rendered from lightsource: sun and the moon not being rendered to the target area infront of player's POV. Turning off distant horizon seems to resolve the issue, but what is the point of using the DH version if DH is not being turned on?
To Reproduce
Simply apply the shader from Modrinth or the release 1.3.7 tag/v1.3.5-beta.3).
Important: TURN ON DISTANT HORIZON
Expected behavior
Shadow being properly rendered over obstacles between the surface and light source, in this case the Sun and the Moon.

Additional context
Here's a photo of the bugged shadow.
Hello there, this isn't a shader side issue but actually an issue with Distant Horizons on their side. Super Duper Vanilla can implement a fix to prevent this but at the cost of removing DH shadows. It is still currently being decided whether to use DH shadows or not.
Ah, guessed so, the DH might be the problem. One thing I can think of is to somehow limit the shadows being rendered over obstacles made by chunks rendered by DH. Otherwise, thanks for the reply.
What other mods do you have downloaded, I experienced the same issue but with a different pack, same world, it doesnt have that issue
@CorruptedKino it is Distant Horizon, that mod is used widely to generate vast with efficient LOD rendering, thus probably created obstacles for the light source.
