Just like with the vanilla sky color, it seems the vanilla/resource pack water colors (changes depending on the biome, especially the pale garden) are also not respected and the resource pack water texture is very hard to see. I just found out a few days ago you can have custom water & sky colors with a Fabric mod called Polytonic. I dunno how hard it is to support it, but I decided to mention that for completeness's sake. For now, support for the vanilla water colors as well as the resource pack texture should be more than enough
