In this pack I was bored of the saplings all being vague representations of the full trees, so I took it upon myself to improve them slightly. This is to my own personal tastes but thought I'd post it incase anyone out there has the same taste as me. Hope you enjoy this pack. It was inspired by a vanilla tweaks option that changes the texture of the trees when they reach the second growth stage before tree form, however all textures and models are my own.
To begin, I retextured all saplings using the same palate and added supports to the planted versions as a test and I like it so it stuck.
Using the power of blockstates they change model to a semi 3D large sapling from after time has passed, all models are unique to each other and further represent the trees.
Birch leaves are also more yellow to diversify them a little more and to be closer to their real world counterparts.
When leaves decay, the unsupported textures for saplings will drop so it doesn't look like they drop with supports, and to be cleaner in the inventory.
If you wish to have non supported saplings when placed, go to assets/minecraft/textures and simply swap the block and item textures.
I may plan to add mod support in the future, cant promise anything, if you want to see any let me know and I will keep it in mind!
I also heavily suggest Jermsey's better leaves add on, and the better birch add on. I use them personally and think they work very well, but be sure use the Jermsy compat pack and to put this pack on top to not cause conflictions.
