if you hold the magma block and go into 3rd person, you'll notice that the magma blocks light moves around with the camera and is tied to it and isnt actually coming from the magma block itself

This is actually something that Canvas itself does, the way it implements Dynamic Lights is through a shader that illuminates in the direction of the player's camera.
