NOTE: OPTIFINE REQUIRED FOR THIS TO WORK!
Friends! I'm sorry to say that I'm longer supporting SRL. This is because I've realized that contrary to it's name, OptiFine actually causes a H E A V Y performance impact on the game. While it's great at making the game look better, I'm no longer using OptiFine myself as I prefer having better performance over better graphics. Apologies if this disheartens anyone. That said, I can already confirm that it works perfectly fine using 1.18 and OptiFine. Also, if there's other means of implementing custom lighting without OptiFine, please let me know as I'm more than willing to officially update SRL to 1.18 if it means I can do it without OptiFine. Thank you for your support, and cheers!
Does your computer struggle to run Minecraft with shaders? Still want the game to feel and look a bit more realistic while not making your computer blow up like a firecracker?
Well, fret no more! This resource pack has you covered!
This resource pack replaces the default lightmaps of Minecraft with more realistic ones. What does this mean exactly? Basically, places that should be darker actually are darker, and places that should be lighter actually are lighter! It means that when you go into a cave (or even go outside at night), you may want to carry a light source with you... because it's gonna be DARK. It also means that biomes with dense vegetation (i.e. woods, dark forests, spruce forests, jungles, etc.) are darker even during the day due to the trees blocking the sun's light. The best part: it's fully compatible with most mods! Well... that is if the mod doesn't add in a new dimension. If it does, you may or may not get realistic lighting in that dimension. That depends on if that dimension has it's own lightmap. Other than that though, any mods should work well with this resource pack!
Please enjoy! I'm also open to constructive criticism, so if you have anything, shoot!
Also, you don't even need to ask if you wish to use this in personal or public projects. All I ask is that if the project is public that you give me some sort of credit.
