About this resource pack:
This is a texture pack that adds subtitles to vault sounds! All the sounds the vault mod adds, I added a subtitle to. This only takes affect if you play with subtitles on, and if you turn off subtitles the subtitles will not show up.
Some things to note:
- Some vault sounds, or rather some actions, use the same sound file. So that means some subtitles have multiple options of what it could be (example: action1/action2) as a subtitle. I thought of multiple ways to separate them but all would mean that I'd have to add a config file, and I personally don't feel morally good about adding a config file without permission as I respect the Vault Hunter Developers and the Vault Hunter Community greatly! :D
- Some sounds you find in the vault, such as the X-Mark room (this is before the Update 8 release), may not be subtitled as they use sounds from other mods. This is just a resource pack for the vault mod, however if you have suggestions for me to make resource packs for subtitles in other mods then feel free to let me know!
- If you find that I missed an overlapping sound, or made a spelling mistake, feel free to let me know so I can edit the files and update it here! :D
Colored Subtitles!:
For fun I decided to make a second version of this resource pack where some of the subtitles are differently colored, or italicized, from default! Mostly abilities and chest are different. While the colors and italics look cool, it isn't as accessible to people so it is just another file in the files tab that you can choose to download if you want to! It is pretty much the same resource pack as the default one, so you do not need to have the default one for the colored subtitles to work.
How to install:
- Make sure the file is unziped, it should just be a folder called "Vault Hunters Captions" or "Vault Hunters Colored Captions"
- In the Pause Menu, also known as the Escape Menu, press "Options"
- Press "Resource Packs"
- This brings up a menu of the selected texture packs and the available texture packs, press "Open Pack Folder". This should open up a folder to your resource packs.
- Drop the resource pack in that folder
- Now when you look at the Resource Pack Menu, you should see the texture pack is available, you can hit the arrow pointing to the selected side of the GUI to select the pack and start using it.
- This'll reload your textures, after it finishes then you should be good to go!
Why I started this project:
I personally use subtitles when playing Minecraft as it helps me quite a bit, and it bothered me, as in bothered by myself not by VH, that I had trouble hearing when copiously went off. So, since I have experience with resource packs, I decided to make a quick resource pack that adds subtitles for now in the meantime. I was originally going to just keep it for myself, but I decided to polish it up so my friends who also use subtitles can use it too. And now we are here!
